The original corporate entity of Amico Affiliates now Amico Adaptive Synergies, was created in April, 1987 when company owner and president, Mr. Dominic Amicone P. Eng., began business as Amico Contracting. The majority of the company’s early construction activity occurred in the Windsor/Essex County area. Since that time, the company has grown in size and capability and is currently involved in land development, road and bridge repair and building construction throughout Ontario including Windsor and Essex County, Ottawa, the Niagara Region, Milton, Strathroy, Cambridge and Chatham-Kent.
Amico provides an integrated and diverse range of services centres on site selection, land development and construction. The team at Amico consists of a full-time staff in excess of 150 employees including Professional Engineers, Land Use Planners, Accountants, Sales and Marketing staff, Project Managers, Site Superintendents and a unionized work force. This staff carries out the business of land development, heavy civil construction management, and design build construction management. More specifically, Amico acts as the General Contractor for site and civil engineering projects with a full complement of Project Managers, Project Superintendents, Project Accountants, Estimators.
The most significant attribute of Amico’s experience is to ensure that each new project is successful and financially sound to deliver “turn-key” solutions. Amico has over 20 years of experience in development offering a complete service package including site selection, approvals, site development and building construction and ongoing operations. Amico also specializes in the provision and operation of seniors’ housing and medical related facilities throughout Ontario. A partner in Seasons Retirement Communities, Amico has constructed and continues to own ten seniors’ housing facilities across Ontario.

Amico was recently awarded an MTO Capital Contract for a 4.5 km road/structure reconstruction project located in Sarnia, ON. Amico will be self-performing the majority of the work on the project, which includes: extensive traffic control and staging, environmental protection, and involves several site constraints due to live utilities and a rail line that crosses the project site.
