Cast off with Captain Andy and his motley crew of wayward characters aboard the ‘Sea Fox II, as we rock the boat with 'A Bigger Hammer' in the company of refreshing adult libations on the Islands’ only regularly scheduled public party cruise.

This week we said goodbye to the 'island Heritage'. Originally built in 1929 by Cranker Brothers of Ivy Lea as the Miss Brockville IV, it is the last survivor of the original Snider Boat Tours fleet. Sadly the boat has been sitting on the hard since 2008 and in all likelihood was never going to return to service. Despite our efforts to donate the boat to the Antique Boat Museum and other entities who could restore and preserve the vessel, the time had come for her to go.

On t...hat note, I am pleased announce that the 'Island Heritage' will now grace the grounds of Douglas Provincial Park in Elbow Saskatchewan where it will serve as a dining room at "The Store by the Shore" owned and operated by Anne and Wayne Willner.

Good luck to Anne and Wayne on their new venture and be sure to stop by and give the Island Heritage a pat on the transom if you're ever passing through the Prairies.

The restoration of the oldest railway tunnel in Canada is a great tribute to the rich industrial history of Brockville and the nation. From a forgotten relic to a modern day wonder, the tunnel adds a unique attraction to the City's tourism repertoire that all residents should be proud of and help promote. I look forward to the future evolution of the Tunnel and the community as we continue to forge the greatest destination in the 1000 Islands!

Thanks to David Leseuer and the Tunnel Committee on a job well done!
