One of the tools we encourage the men to use is a journal where they can get out the thoughts that are clanging in their heads. Recently one of our young men wrote the following poem in his journal when he was feeling very sad as he grieved the loss of his sister.

Each morning when I awake I know that you are gone. And no one knows the heartache I feel as I try to carry on. My heart still aches with sadness, and my tears abundantly flow.... What it means to lose you, no one will ever know.

My thoughts are always with you, your place no one can fill. In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still. There will always be heartache, and often a silent tear. But always a precious memory, of days when you were here.

If tears could make a staircase, and heartaches make a lane I'd walk the path to Heaven, and bring you Home again. I'd hold you close to my heart, and there you would remain. But now, you’ll walk with me throughout my life until we meet again.

Our family chain is broken now, and nothing will ever be the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Memories are treasures, no one can ever steal. Death Leaves wounds that no one can ever heal.

Precious are the moments that our silence kept, Of those that we have loved and never will forget.
