My husband and I visited Blue Marlin for 5 nights. We had a phenomenal time. The resort is on top of the reef. The east side had an amazing view of the sunrise on top of the waves, the west side had a perfect view of the sunset on the calm seas.

Since you are on the reef the snorkeling/diving is amazing! On our snorkel dive we saw tons of fish, turtles, sharks, dolphins, and amazing different types of coral. We also snorkeled on the west side of the island where we saw shrimp, HUGE hermit crabs, lobsters, eels, sting rays, sharks, and many fish.
On our dives we saw a huge variety of fish, lobsters, 6'-8' eagle rays, turtles, sharks, and so many different types of coral. Richard was our dive master. This is his territory, so he knows the area like the back of his hand. He was smart with recognizing dive sites based off currents, lighting, and types of sea life. We had him all to ourselves and he was amazing as he took his time with us and pointed out the marine life, so we could see all the different types of creatures. He gave us the best dive experience yet! He is a real life AQUATIC COWBOY!

When we were back at the island we spent our time on the beach and in the bar. My husband had about 30 of "Sonia's World Famous Micheladas" while were there. Be sure to ask about these when you get to the bar, he fell in love with them! Chef Mo's food was delicious. He clearly has a passion for cooking and you could tell with every bite. All his meals were so good! He makes all his tortillas, they are the best! There is no menu, so you are surprised by each meal which is always fantastic.

The staff was great, and the owners Rosella and Richard were really fun to hang out with. They gave us our space when we wanted and gave us the family feeling when we were with them. We enjoyed them and the staff as they were all great people.

Before we stayed here, we stayed in San Pedro at Victoria House. It was nice but there was a lot of commotion and activity in the area. We enjoyed our stay here 10X more then being in San Pedro. It was a perfect place to disconnect and get some more amazing dives in!

Thanks to the Blue Marlin family for giving us an experience we will never forget. We can't wait to return and would highly recommend this experience for anyone who is looking to have a chance to completely disconnect from society and relax without any interruptions as well as see the amazing Caribbean Ocean.

Overall this place was amazing, and I can't stress that enough! The environment was just paradise, and there was plenty to do (snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, scuba diving, etc.). The rooms were nice, but you shouldn't be spending too much time in them anyway, as you're on a gorgeous island! There are hammocks and chairs to sit in all around, with beautiful views. The only drawback to this resort that I can think of is the internet connection. The wifi was only available at the bar and did not work too well, but again you're on an island, so that should be expected (and it was kind of nice to be able to unplug from the electronics for a bit).

This is a pretty quiet place for the most part, so I wouldn't recommend bringing really young children, although they are more than welcome there. We were here on NYE and it was an amazing experience to watch the fireworks on the island over the water. That was the only time it got super loud and crazy at the bar (because New Years), but you couldn't hear the noise from the rooms if you chose not to be out, and it was a fun time if you chose to be out.

The people there were what really drove it home for me though! Everyone was so welcoming and interesting; they really have a way of making you feel like part of their family on your stay. Chef Moses was wonderful with the cooking for every meal, and other staff like Sonya, the boat crew (Richard, Abel, and many more) were just incredible people all-around. They not only offer great service and make sure you get what you need, but they were also super fun to joke around with as friends. I don't have enough space to thank everyone personally, but I can just say that I enjoyed my time spent on this island and I would love to be able to come back a billion more times :)

We had the most wonderful experience ever at the Blue Marlin! It is family owned and incredibly well run. I have never, in all of my travels, experienced such a serene and peaceful place! We went for our honeymoon and our expectations were greatly exceeded! The service was second to none. The island is very well kept, the food was amazing, and they treat you like family! If granite countertops and things like that are a priority, this is not the place for you. But if you love comfortable, clean, beachy accommodations, great service, and natural beauty.you will want to book this place.again and again! Thank you Rosella, Sonya and the rest of your wonderful team for making our time there absolutely perfect!

At first glance the Island looks amazing. After being there for a day you realize you are blessed to just be there. Everyone and everything was amazing. From Roselia to Sonya, Richard all the way to the guy raking the island, to the food, fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, and even diving. Everyone tried to make our trip great and they exceeded expectations. We would highly recommend if you are into a remote location with really great hosts. Came knowing no one and left with new family members. Much Love to all.
