Ambergris Cay was a great disappointment, in fact we cu our visit short as there is no beach at San Pedro, where our travel agent booked us in for a beach holiday. The water is seriously polluted and full of sea grass so there is no swimming possible along that shore, and no sandy foreshore to lie on and relax. The smell of diesel from the little boats going all the time made staying outdoors a health risk, as if the water weren't enough. It's no doubt good for divers who go by boat out to the barrier reef to dive, but for anyone else, go to another island!
