Ruins of Palace in Asvieja (Vitebsk region). It was built in 1782 in early classicism style on the property of Minsk warrior Jan August Hylzen, but since 1786 it belonged to Jan Shaurski (Hylzen’s nephew). It was two-floor building with five galleries. There were 4 main gates (by 4 seasons), 12 inside entrances (by 12 months), number of rooms and halls - by number of weeks in the year and number of windows – by the number of the days. Except this, here was gorgeous library: thousands of books 16th - 19th centuries. Under the soviet government the palace was plundered. During the World War II guerrillas for some reason blew the palace, after the war here located club and village administration office, but was received a decree to destroy the palace. It’s was too dangerous to blow it (near school is located ), that is why just was officially allowed to plunder it. After this, that is the only what could be saved.
