On Sabbath had friends over and i made this Indonesian inspired fried rice with mung beans and portobellos...was expecting kiddos as well so made it a little mild....made the spicy version on Monday nite and totally loved it...our garden looking not too shabby either...just waiting to cater for all your events....watch out for our end of may event..till next time x x x
And so dinner was served the other nite..Salsa/Hummus/Bean burger with (Shiitake,King Oyster & Shimeji) Mushrooms served this in a wrap/taco/bun and tasted sooo good! Mushroom season.....
Needed a plain filing for sandwiches and i had mushroom in the fridge so i made this simple mushroom side...took literally 3 mins to cook and was done.The only condiment i used was salt and it was so tasty and had that meaty feel..The Crunchy mushroom i long promised you isn't forgotten...keep tuning in and do call us for your catering needs....
So the Mosutlhane stir fry happened and it was soo tasty, i feel it deserves an audience so might make it again this weekend. Was lazy to make the meatloaf and so i made a one pot Mosutlhane and mince stirfry.Still have a couple of mosutlhane dishes to try out, Mosutlhane bake, burger and more...Gatwe ke mma dijo...i enjoy playing with food, i make rules and break rules to come up with mouth watering dishes. Can't believe it's Friday again..where did the week go...On Fridays i go to pavilion for their setswana cuisine today had korong and dinawa..yummy...other week had mosutlhane it was just plain but very nice too..so went and bought the uncooked one for my trials...friend of mine promises that mosutlhane stir fry is amazeballs so this weekend we might just try mosutlhane stir fry and maybe vegan meatloaf...can't wait....
Pictures of the home made Granula and Lentil Curry as promised....The weather was Bae so we enjoyed the lentil curry with Basmati rice, Nan Bread, Crispy Mushrooms( Courtesy of Embassy Restaurant) & Carrot/pineapple salad...I will make my own version of Crispy mushroom soon!!!! Beautiful coldish weather this weekend so busy making home made granula using gluten free rolled oats...its currently baking in the oven and looks yummy even before adding cranberries and raisins..also making lentil curry stew...pictures loading soon...can't wait to dig in....
On Saturday I went to a newly opened Chinese restaurant at CBD and had scrumptious garlic and mushroom side dish. I am currently off meat so the mushroom had a nice meaty feel…Afterwards I looked up a mushroom recipe I can try out at home and came across this gnocchi and creamy mushroom recipe which is all vegan….Tried to recreate the dish but found my mushroom wasn’t fresh so had to come up with plan B. Gnocchi is an Italian Dombolo made from potatoes and can be served with any pasta sauce, So the dish took a life of its own and ended up with vegetarian mince gnocchi….served that with avocado salsa…Will try the mushroom version next week! My Yumminess! We serve all Cuisines and cater for all dietary requirements!!!

I made this oh so refreshing melon drink for my guests and they loved it even those who normally don't eat melon......summer drinks!!!

As Maangchi would say: my! my! my! what a tasty Sunday we had...Scrumptious food, beautiful garden and the lovely ladies who graced our food tasting session thank you so much...As promised the Korean wings are crispy, crunchy and tangy while soft inside...will be making them for more functions for a while.... I am catering for a baby shower on 24/09/17 and cant decide what to make! So this weekend its Cooking time as i prepare for the shower....I follow Korean drama and been dying to try their Spicy crunchy Korean wings...last time i made Zucchinni and carrot loaf was in 2013 want to recreate it into frittatas maybe will see!!.... Waldoff Salad with a twist as well....Cant wait!!
