The most iconic experience in Bhutan.
One must complete the journey to the top on foot to experience true beauty.
The monastery on top has some beautiful paintings and offers a tremendous view of the valley.
Highly recommended from my side.
This is a must do in Bhutan! The most amazing day trek! Our guides, Including Tampa, were amazing. This was a long day trek exhausting but worth every moment! Bhutan is worth every moment
Wonderful place and hike all the way to the top.
The experience is 100% worth it.
Make sure you have the right shoes and equipment for the hike specially if the weather is rainy as it can be very slippery.
Cameras aren’t allowed inside unfortunately.
The hike until the top would take between 2.5- 3.5 hours depending on your speed
most beautiful monastery I've ever seen. perfect name - tigers nest. it looks like that. hike isn't bad. takes around 2 hours one way for an average hiker. beautiful views of valley along the way. it is definitely my favourite spot in the entire Bhutan. go early to avoid crowds as it can get very crowded due to it's popularity
Good and must visit place for trekking lovers. Otherwise do check your physical fitness before you go. Place can be made better with providing basic amenities like toilet s etc on way. No signage anywhere indicating direction, distance etc. Persons from all ages can go but definitely difficult task
The best hiking experience one can get at this place. Its a 4 to 5 hr trek round trip. The trek starts from morning 7 a.m to 4 p.m. One can avail a donkey service to trek up to the cafe at the halfway. Delicious buffet served at the cafe and snacks as well. Various international cuisines to try out.
A must visit place. The hike is about 3 hours one way for an average person. Fast youngster's can raceu up within 2 hours. There is a restaurant halfway (also the place where the horse ride stops). We felt it expensive, but then the effort to make the food available at that altitude justifies the price. One needs to be at the top by 2 PM to get the best pictures of the tiger's nest, before that the shadow of the mountain covers the monastery. The monastery itself is very nice to visit. There is a security check just before the entrance and also a place to store all your belongings (a safe with a lock is available free of charge)
One of the best places to visit in Bhutan. The trek up and down including 1hr visit can be done by beginners in about 5-6 hours. I visited in March, It got a little cold above and would recommend warmer clothes for upstairs. The caves are mesmerizing and a place to savour for. The entire aura of the place is simply amazing.
Wow Just wow. Breath taking and beautiful sights. The cleanliness and beauty with a very beautiful greenery and the aura of peace is too good. One of the best place to visit. Even the trekking was a little difficult but it worths each drop of your sweat 😊 try to start as early as possible. There is also a beautiful waterfall there.
One of the best place to visit in Paro. The temple is situated at quite a height in the mountains which requires quite a long way of hiking to reach there. Horses are also available with which you can cover around 60% of the trek. However the rest of the distance is to be completed by foot. The temple is quite awesome and beautiful situated just at the side of the mountain. The walk to the temple is worth every bit. Really a must visit place in Bhutan..Quite awesome
Tiger's nest monastery is a collection of buildings precariously perched on a cliff, 900 meters from the ground. It is stunning in its beauty and location. Without a doubt, a first time to to Bhutan would not be complete without seeing the tiger's nest.
The start of the trail gives you a sneak peek of the monastery and what your efforts will take you to. Looking at the monastery from the trailhead and from up close is equally breathtaking. The journey up is rather fulfilling with each step taken very rewarding.
It was interesting walking around the monastery as I did not realize that it was made out of multiple small rooms built into the side of the mountain.
The Tigers best is most famous tourist attractions in Bhutan. Also a very religious place. Need the climb 8 Kms and 600 stairs to reach the temple. Bags and mobiles need to kept in an open locker outside. It is safe though.carry sufficient water and food and warm clothes. It has one of the best scenic route and views of the mountains. Start early by 8 to avoid heat in the afternoon. It becomes very cold here sometime. The trek is very steep and not a paved path.
One of my favourite place, I want to go again and again. 😍😍😍 lovely place. The architecture of the monastery is so beautiful I can't explain in words also, people are so helpful there. After climbing up there they will give u some food, so that u could gain some energy. It's a trekking point , so aged people should not go for their safety.
Amazing experience overall - the trek up, the view, the peacefulness over here! Since most people are winded after the trek up - you would not be disturbed by any noise crowds 😅 but it takes a certain level of fitness so be prepared for a 3hr steep trek up.
There is a cafe midway which offers basic lunch / snacks. Entry ticket of 500Nu to be taken from the foothills before starting the trek.
This place is truly heaven ❤. The trek to the top is tiring but is worth all the effort. The way this temple is built at that height just amazes you . The beauty of the temple increases as you get closer and then when you finally get to see it from close you just can't take your eyes of it😍. The place ,the feel, the people just everything about this place is beautiful and the stories you get to hear from the guides there will take you to another spiritual world. There is a restaurant at the top so one can refresh with some snacks as you climb to the shrine. For those who can't trek they can choose to ride a horse more than half the way up but you do have to walk the rest of the distance which isn't that hard and is very safe. Please do visit this place and feel the essence of Buddhism. 😘😇
Such an amazing trek. It's very tiresome but totally worth it. It feels you've entered another dimension. Every step you take makes you want to click a picture. It takes about two and a half hours to climb but if you're a photo enthusiast then of course it'll take more. There's just nothing available to eat at the top, one has to eat at the Taktsang Cafe which is a little overpriced. The washrooms are also placed at the half way point.
This is probably the most famous and scenic of all locations in Bhutan. The 4 hour climb is tiring and at points you are close to giving up. But the exhilaration you feel after reaching the top, is worth all the efforts. A very good place for photography. Must visit on any Bhutan tour.
Dream Place to go. The majestic shrine, a walk worth every second. Go light for an easy climb. There is water stream everywhere and also a there is a restaurant half way. The restaurant is expensive. Never miss Tigers Nest if you are in Bhutan. Dont miss to shop at the foot hill, awesome handicraft.
Oct 2017. Started climb at 2600m, reach tea house 35 minutes later. Tea house served free tea and biscuits. Then continue to climb to Tigers Nest viewpoint to 3150m at 10.30am. Then climb down and walk up again to Tigers Nest at 3100m at 11am. Please note bags and mobile phones are not allowed inside the temple. Best to prepare light snacks or energy bars. It takes fastest 1.5 hours to depart Tigers Nest and reach the parking lot.

It's a great experience to go there . Do visit and enjoy natural beauty ..
A beautiful and ancient monastery of Bhutan. it's a holy place for Buddhist people. it's situated more than 10000 feet above from Paro valley. it's not a easy task to go there by trekking such a high altitude. but Nobody wanna miss the beauty of this ancient temple. Photograph and filming is completely prohibited inside the monastery.
One day trekking, wear good shoe, may rain fall so take precautions. Amazing monastery at the top of rocks. Can view nice water fall.
This probably is one of the nicest treks possible for the simple reason being it's warm at the start and the weather gets cooler helping you to get to the monastery quickly. The trial is so clean am outta words. Finally the views and the monastery it self a sight
Tiger's Nest is a wonderful experience.. It takes around 3 to 3.30 hours to reach the top. and around 1.30 to 2 hours to return. If you are not fit enough or do not have regular walking habbit or have some health issues, it would be better to see Tiger's Nest from the ground only..
An amazing place to visit far away from bustling cities.. through the trails upwards!! Go there, meditate for a few minutes and you're rejuvenated and all set to take on the busy life again!!
The most important icon in Bhutan. A must visit place. Built right in the middle of a cliff which lies 900 meters above the valley. Perfect day hike to visit that place.
As per Bhutanese they believe that we should atleast make it to that place once in a life time as it is considered very very sacred.
Very very beautiful
Its one of the best trekking experience one can ever have in this part of the world. It takes about 3 hours to trek uphill covering approximately 8kms, While it takes 1.5 hrs for return journey. Its a stiff task, so do consider before you start off. The view is mesmerizing once reach the destination.
One of the best treks! Neither too easy nor too difficult. Since, I was without a guide, I could go around anywhere and make my own climbing trail. Did get lost in between but the peacefulness of trekking alone was totally worth it. There are mainly 2 routes - one is easier to climb and used by most of the tourists. It is a bit long. The other one is steeper but through the forests and much more beautiful. I would recommend the latter.
The only downside is that you need to reserve a taxi and there is no shared taxi to reach the base. It could set you back between Nu.600-800.
Perfect way to end a trip in Bhutan.
Be prepared for a good 4-6hrs trek if u have not climbed mountains
It requires much effort to trekk up the mountain to the monastery, but the view is worth the effort. A good trekking shoe is highly recommended for this visit.
Horse ride from entry gate to coffee shop (middle point of full trekking) is awesome. then view from the top of the hill is outstanding.. Note: must start your journey as early as possible because we start 10 am in the morning and finish 4.40 pm at the evening. so finish your trekking before dark and ware full pant and shirt/tshirt. its a rules to enter tiger nest monetary
Great trek all the way up till the monastery. Very tiring but a great experience. However the security staff at the top was very rude. Lockers without locks is another thing not acceptable as you have to deposit all your valuables includind cameras and mobiles
Nothing could be more striking than the pristine, haunting beauty of the landscape of tigernest, or the atmosphere of peace and sacredness, which pervades the land from end to end. whenever I am here I feel as if transported into a pure realm.
