Dedicated to the national animal of Bhutan - Takin .Lots of Takins in their natural habitat. Can spot sambar deer occasionally. Could have included few more animals native to Bhutan for the entry fee of 100 Nu.

Unnecessarily priced - i.e. entry ticket.
Best is to avoid. U can't even see a Takin. If really want to, you can see grownup goat !!suggest to not to waste time n money.

It's good for tracking but they charge you which is not worth. If you have free time then only visit it otherwise skip it .

Good place to visit for those who don't mind taking a nice long walk. Unlike zoos, the animals are not kept in cages, but are free to roam around. There are many takins but we couldn't get a close look at them since they wouldn't come near us.

In Bhutan Takin is a national animal & this is Takin reserve.Entry fee was RS 100 /per-head.
You can find diff spices of Takin in this reserve.well maintained.Takin are found in bamboo forests at altitudes of 1,000 to 4,500 metres (3,300 to 15,000 ft), where they eat grass, buds and leaves. Takin are diurnal, active in the day, resting in the heat on particularly sunny days. Takin gather in small herds in winter and herds of up to a hundred individuals in the summer; in winter, they move to lower elevations and split into smaller herds of 10-50 individuals, mostly in the Gasa District. As is often seen in bison, old males are often solitary.

The place is neatly kept but very small and lacks signages or any maps of the area to direct visitors. Only a few variety of animals are available to be seen. A few signages and increased number of animal variety could have been value for money .

It is nice to be to go somewhere to see the Takin in person. While the reserve is not huge, the size is decent enough for you to appreciate the animals. It does look a little run down but the place is kept neat and tidy. The reserve has a couple of other animals there besides the Takin but that's not why you go there.

A nice, neat and tidy reserve fulfilling its purpose. A walk around the path lends to good views of the Takin in close vicinity. Toilets and a small coffee shop are available.

Oct 2017. A place to see the Bhutan’s national anaimal, Thakin. A very run-down place especially the facilities for tourists. Lucky if you can see the animal up close.

You can see national animal of Bhutan here. That's it. No other animals are here only some deer and dogs can be seen. Toilet is not good here. 1 small cafe is here. 50rs per person they are charging to visit or see Takin

Takin is said to be a mystical animal which was created by Guru Rinpoche. This is a reserve for this animal which is not all that common and found in Bhutan only, from what I was told. The Bhutan Takin preserve is more like a long trail along a fence where you'll be able to view a Takin along with some other more common animals. If you are in the vicinity you should definitely visit but if not that's ok too and you won't miss out on much.

If you have plenty of time, very less programs for the day as per your itinerary then it is a perfect place to visit and enjoy the nature. Only few animals can be seen but it is worth visiting. The National animal of Bhutan, Takin a rare animal found only in few parts of China and Myanmar is a strange looking animal. There is a mythical story related to this animal as per Bhutanese.

Its a preserve for the national animal of Bhutan, the Takin.
Its quite a big area where they have made walking trails around the open enclosure that houses all the animals.
Scenic and peaceful place where you can take a nice nature walk and enjoy the magnificent Takins.
Check it out if you have a couple of hours to spare.

On a side-note, avoid the cafe inside, which served poor quality of food.

Except Takin there is nothing special ( Well I understand it's a Takin reserve).

Found it boring.

Since you have travelled till Bhutan, why do you want to miss it? Go ahead and buy the tickets!

You can see national animal of Bhutan here. Good place to get away from traffic and have a nice view of Thimphu city from a little above the park.
