I visited this place with a knowledgeable guide. It made a lot of difference. A local with masters in history explaining the architecture and artifacts adds to the experience of visiting such places. Liked it.

For the price you pay, it's worth a look. Don't expect anything exotic. But you will get a sense of what life was in Bhutan by visiting this three storey wood house. The house which likely represent a typical dwelling of a well to do family and is well organized. My kids loved climbing the wooded ladders between the floors (steep).

Nice place to see Bhutan's historic culture. Learning place for students. Museum is showing you mud pots, old kitchen gadgets and other stuff which used by ancient people in Bhutan.

Museum is okay. You can visit once and can experience house of Bhutanese years ago. Toilet is available. Entrance fee is there if you want to visit museum otherwise you can roam inside too. There are 1 restaurant also which serves Bhutanese. 300 / 500rs per plate. One can have experience of Bhutanese food ..

Nice place to visit to see and feel the ancient life of Bhutanese and their lives. Really enjoyable. There is also a restaurant inside the complex. Foods are tasty but prices are little bit higher.

Didn't get to see the museum however the restaurant was great .. excellent prices but the food choice was a bit limited. Couldn't fault the service wow speedy and precise. Watch out if you are sensitive to chilis and salt

Photography is not allowed here. A nice little view into the life of an rich Bhutanese family from ancient times. The exhibits are a little worn, however there is good explanation of everything for people it rested in the details of their life. We were given fresh rice puffs and their traditional alcohol is also present for tasting for those interested. There was live demo of making of rice puffs and traditional Bhutanese weaving.

I you really want to know how Bhutanese traditional life, culture, and setting was like in the bygone days, then a visit to the musuem is a must. Besides you also find almost all the things that were used by all levels of Bhutanese society in the past. Its a compact old and rural bhutan experience that is becoming rarer by the day. For example the watermill we see outside, is no longer in use and very hard to come by throughout he whole country.
Besides you can also taste authentic Bhutanese cuisine at the restaurant and hot ara(local wine) at the courtyard brewed in front of you.
A must visit place if you are visiting Bhutan to experience "Bygone Bhutan".

PS: The tour could be 5 minutes or an hour or more depending on your interest.

If you want to experience traditional Bhutanese food in a Bhutanese culture setting this is the place you have to visit. The food is served with butter tea, ara- the Bhutanese locally brewed spirit and the food menu consist of mainly Bhutanese food. Good location, clean setting and by the apple orchard- fresh and peaceful.

Interesting museum where you can see a whole traditional Bhutanese house, inclusive of every item. Photography is not permitted inside. There are a lot of steep steps to climb in the house, so it is not recommended for the very young, the elderly, and the mobility-challenged. But there is a beautiful garden and a lovely café, as well as a gift shop on the grounds.
