  Arrange for a guided tour of the Choki Traditional Art School, where you can see various levels of students learning wood-carving, sewing, painting, drawing, etc. The concentration and skill of the students is fascinating.
  
  The school used to focus on boarding male students, but having girls as day students, until a young British girl visited the school and asked why there were no girls. When she was told that the school did not have funds to build a girls' dormitory, the girl went back to London and engaged her friends in bake sales and other projects to raise money for the girls' dorm. Her father was so impressed with his daughter's tenacity and generosity that he donated the remainder of the funds - and today, there is a girls' dorm at the Choki School.
  
  There is a gift shop that features work done by the students, so buying products is a great way to support the school, but also have a hand-made piece of Bhutanese art.
