Just done the Soi Yaksa Trek with Marty and Carol from the US! This trek is also known as Jumolhari Trek II or simply the Jomolhari Loop. The highlight of this trek is the spectacular view of Mount Jomolhari from the base camp. You will be crossing the turquoise Tshophu lake and Bhontey La pass to Drukgyal Dzong.

Do you wish you had travelled untrampled location before all the tourists arrived and “ruined the place?” Well, now is your chance. Bhutan won’t be the same in five years as it is today. It will still be worth visiting in five years, of course – a place as spectacular as Bhutan will always be worth a tour. But it won’t be the same spectacular place in five years. Its spectacle will be a different spectacle.

Devotion is of paramount importance in Buddhism. There is a story where a son took a dry tooth of a dog to his mother and told her it was Buddha’s tooth. The mother believed it. Her tremendous devotion to this tooth led to a miracle where holy water dripped from the tooth. Devotion rids one of doubt (follow the link below to read more).

At an altitude of 3100m above the sea level in Paro, lies the sacred Chumophug Nye. It’s a 3- hour hike with strangely shaped rocks and prestigious Nyes of Guru Rinpoche and Dorji Phagmo along the trail. The last hour is a steep hike up towards the temple holding its main relic, the self-arisen statue of Dorji Phagmo (Vajravarahi).
