Authentic Bhutanese food in a vintage setting. But those with a bad back, please request for table seating or else they will sit you on the floor. Cleanliness needs backing up. Food is fabulous.

Five stars for the atmosphere and such friendly staff. The restaurant is housed in a traditional mud brick building and kept pretty much how it was originally. This restaurant serves up local food cooked authentically (we were told). The food was delicious but the dried meats take some getting used to (for me at least).

This is 400 years old house where we could get to see the old Bhutanese house and also a very delicious Bhutanese food. I fully recommend people to visit it and try it yourself. They have also partnered with Bhutan Organic food just next to there restaurant, which is also 400 years old house. You can also visit Bhutan Organic food right after you order your food, it's a social enterprise. I fully relcommend

I along with my friend had travelled all the way from Thimphu (its quite a far from the city: 11-12km), hungry, but only to be turned away, when we said we hadn't pre-ordered. When we said we didn't know the policy since we were without a guide, the receptionist first said that it then takes around 2 hours to prepare our order if we ordered now, to which we agreed (since we had come a great deal just for the resturant) but the receptionist was taken aback by our positive response & said she has to talk to the Manager. The Manager promptly told us that the resturant was "housefull" & they can't serve just the 2 of us. Outside only 3 cars were parked. We felt humiliated not by the rejection of service but by the way they turned us away, since we read in the reviews later, that people were fed even after not pre-ordering their food.
Dissapointed & hungry (then), ofcourse !

They turned us away empty handed and empty stomached on the pretext that we had not 'pre-ordered' our food. How is one supposed to know of such a ridiculous policy when one is visiting bhutan on their own without a tour guide. At the very least they could have had the courtesy of serving us some basic food items.. Highly disappointed with the place.

A nice place to experience what it it is like to eat at a village farm house. Food tastes good and price is highly reasonable.
