  "Bury me across from Tony's place," was Sir Edward's request, so his memorial was placed in the park opposite Tony Macaroni's conch stand on the beach. Sir Edward was one of the owners of the Grand Bahama Port Authority, and was much loved by the Bahamians. Though he was a successful businessman, family and friends always came first. He was kind and generous, and did much to improve living standards on Grand Bahama, with improvements in housing, education, and infrastructure.
  
  He loved the Bahamian people, as was as likely to be found in a low income neighborhood playing dominoes as he was at an exclusive cocktail party. He and his wife Lady Henrietta founded the Grand Bahama Children’s Home for orphans and abandoned children, the Beacon School for handicapped children, the Genesis Academy for problem boys, the Pace Centre for pregnant teens, and a huge scholarship program. He is much missed. The island is not the same without him.
