  I just returned from my third trip here and couldn't be happier with the experience. This is a "Mom and Pop" operation, not one run by a distant corporation. Bill Howard runs the entire show and is there every day to get things done right. It isn't the fanciest lodge in the Bahamas, but the food is superb, the beds are clean and comfortable and everything runs like a well oiled machine. What sets it apart is it's proximity to the prime bonefish grounds at the south end of Andros Island. The shorter run times to the best fishing really adds up over the course of a week. You seldom see another boat unless it's one from his lodge.

  All the rave reviews already posted are accurate and reflect the splendid experience that my son and I had last week at Mars Bay. Things do run like like clockwork, and that is due in large part to proprietor Bill Howard's scrupulous attention to the needs to guests and the quality of his staff, from the dock boys to the cooks, housekeepers to guides. We caught bonefish every day with the hard-working and knowledgeable guides, and my son managed to land a very special fish on our last day. The food was excellent, and there was more of it than anyone lashed to a skiff all day should have any right eating. You won't miss your pets here, as Bill's hospitality has extended to some local cats and dogs that greet you as if you lived there. Overall, you can't go wrong booking a bonefish adventure here. I am already saving to make a return trip in the near future!

  My experience at Mars Bay Bonefish Lodge was the best spring break I have ever had. It was the first time I have ever fished for bonefish, and the guides were very helpful and patient. Not only did they try their hardest to help us catch bonefish, but they showed us some of the scenic areas of the flats such as deep blue holes. The bonefishing was outstanding, each spot we saw bonefish in groups of twos, threes, or even a single. We also saw many schools of hungry bonefish. On the flats of Mars Bay, there are endless sightings of sea animals, such as sea turtles cruising through the water, stingrays, multiple species of sharks, barracudas, and schools of bonefish. Bill, the owner and operator, shows true pride in his bonefish camp, and you can see all the hard work he has put into his bonefish camp to make it clean and comfortable for his guests. Every meal was very tasty, and the experience could not have been as great as it was without the outstanding staff. This trip was a great vision of the true Bahamas.

  My favorite lodge in the Bahamas. Bill runs a great lodge his staff is top notch. I have been to many lodges all over the earth and this one runs like a Swiss watch.
  Rooms are nice, Food is great the house staff is amazing the home cooked food is to die for. The guides are great and the boats are so well cared for . The amount of Bone fish seen on an average day is very impressive . Lots of wading/walking for Bone fish if you like. The wading for Bone fish and the Lodge service is why I have been to this lodge 5 times.
