Half Moon Cay is beautiful, very small but beautiful. I took the tour in the clear glass bottom boat. It was amazing. I took a tour of the island on the open "truck". I spent all day there and had a fantastic time.
Wonderful and lovely cruise owned beach resort with a long beautiful beach front. Spend a lazy day with a great all you can eat lunch and a cash bar, near to the water!!
Highly recommended!!
It's a relaxing beautiful island. The beach is wonderful, lots of fun activities for children. The lobster shack is a nice touch, so is the pirate ship bar. Lots of chairs so you don't have to worry. They have foot baths which help a great deal to wash off the sand. The stores are no big deal, so don't worry about shopping. It's just a great place to swim, eat, relax and have fun!
This whole cruise was way too much fun! As it happened, we celebrated my husband's and my birthdays. It was my birthday on the day we visited Half Moon Cay.
The boat ride to the Cay gave us a glimpse of the beauty we were going to enjoy. When you initially walk on the island, you're greeted with a photo opportunity with the welcome sign. As we walked through the entranceway into the market area, I was surprised at the small amount of vendors. Even though I was surprised, it was a pleasant surprise. The most surprising thing about it all, was the fairness of the prices.
I ended up buying a cute sandal pendant. We also received free birthday drinks, which was nice.
For some reason, we didn't make it to the beach (for 1 thing, we live on the world's most beautiful beaches.) However, we were able to see breathtaking views of the swimming area.
If you're on a cruise and have the opportunity to visit, I recommend you doing so. It is a very small place, but it is set up nicely.
Wonderfully long beach. White sand is powder like and great to walk on. The personnel on shore are friendly and very considerate, polite and kind. Helpful at every turn. The island is constantly being tended to and kept clean and picturesque.
We loved our day on the island. We got the cabana with butler package. What an extravagant treat at the end of our cruise! Our attendant was fabulous -- she took care of our every need and kept us full of great snacks and lush meals and drinks. The cabana itself was great: lounge chairs, towels, fridge, table and chairs, view of the bay and our ship. The cabana & butler are not necessary for a good time. There are 100s of chaise lounges set up on the beach. The beach/water were clean and beautiful - lots of swimmers and safety attendants.
Drink servers took care of lounge users' needs. Our Half Moon Cay experience was well worth the basic price. The cabana/butler are not necessary to enjoy the outing, but we had a lot of fun with them.
If looking for a beautiful beach with no local sales pressure and with all the amenities, this is your spot. If I'm sailing the Bahamas, I always try to choose one that spends a day here. No extra fees and a great place to relax off the boat.
A true tropical paradise! The sand is so very fine it is almost like walking on flour lol. The white beaches really stand out when the aquamarine teal water touches it. There are shade trees on the beach! Seriously! My wife breaks out when her skin is exposed to the sun so we don't do a lot of beach time. But here, we spent several hours on the beach, safely under the shade of the trees and it was amazing. Of course their beach is like 90% sunny. But we really enjoyed the small part of the beach we were on watching everyone else sweat!
I know "Paradise" gets used a lot but this place is legitimately paradise. Bright blue warm waters perfect sand beaches. If you ever have a chance to go, go. Don't hesitate.
Beautiful location with beautiful scenery. It was absolutely stunning! The excursions were a littlw expensive but that's to be expected in vacation Destinations: they tend to raise the price. But all in all, it was a wonderful experience and definitely recommended.
The best stop on the carnival cruise. Get there early to rent the clam shells for $16. Carnival provides a free lunch buffet with jerk chicken, burgers, hot dogs, and more. Beautiful beach!
The beach here was just beautiful and they offer a large range of excursions. I went kayaking in the eco lagoon and that was a lot of fun. The main beach was just amazing the sand was so fine and the water was super clear.
This is a beautiful spot to stop at on the cruise. Bring your own mask and snorkel. The water is very clear and protected. Not much to see while snorkeling. Nice place to relax by the water. When you get off the boat go to your right away from the main entry. You will have your pick of chairs and away from most of the people. Your ship will be the only one at this port. Not a lot to do here but relax.
Amazing white sand beach! Very relaxing, and a great beach. We didn't do any excursions and was happy with that choice. Just hanging on the beach for a few hours was perfect, before heading back to our cruise ship.
Beautiful place. So many things to see and do its sure to be enjoyment rather you tour the island or bike ride. Get out and be adventurous
Half Moon Cay is one of the most beautiful beaches I've been to. The sand is so white thin soft it doesn't bother you. There is a very very Long Beach lots of room. The water is beautiful. I learned a valuable lesson it's too hot in September. I couldn't stay very long even in a bungalow. I was there once before when the weather was cooler and it was awesome I think it was January.
This is a private beach. You can only access this beach from a cruise ship. There is no duty free, shops or restaurants but, you can do excursions. There is a cash bar and when I went the cruise line had a beach party for us. The beach is immaculate. There are no seaweed, sharp shell, pebbles or any uncomfortable foot debris. The beach gradually tapers to about 10 feet.
Better than we expected. The best beach sand we have ever seen. Beautiful clean clear water. Fantastic weather. Enough lounge chairs for everyone. Fantastic lunch. We loved it.
Suggestion, walk over to the Sting Ray pool. It's close and free to watch those doing the excursion.
One of the most beautiful beaches I've been to. We were surrounded by a school of zebra fish when we first entered the clear beautiful water with white sand. Lovely experience.
Holland America's (Carnival) private island.
The island has stingray pens for excursions, a ranch for horseback riding, and the Half Moon Beach which offers parasailing, snorkeling, beach chairs and private cabanas. The shipwreck bar has a nice Captain Morgan stained glass window. The cruise line will set up lunch at the main pavilion facility as well.
A little slice of paradise for anyone who loves the beach.
Awesome cruise stop. Food is provided and the clearest water in the Caribbean. Sat near the bar this time and enjoyed the entertainment!
This is such a beautiful place. Great weather and everyone is so nice and polite. I loved it
This was a nice beach. It's carnival owned and private. We did a stingray excursion which was awesome! They set up lunch there which is also convenient. The only bad part was getting back on the boat. We waited in line forever and everyone was hot and miserable. I would hope that it's run better in the future.
If you want a day on the beach, this is the place! There is plenty to do from snorkeling to horseback riding. There is a bar and a gift shop, where you can purchase what you need. The lunch is free and included with your day long stay. There have always been enough chairs on the beach that there is no need to fight with other cruisers for space. This is the best beach I've been to in a long timeblue water, white sandy beaches. Don't stay on the boat!!
We paid for an eco lagoon tour. Close to $50 a person. It was suppose to be an hour and 15 minutes but they neglected to tell us it was a 35 minute drive out only to make a few circles and come back in our guide was not friendly, but at the end expected a tip.. when we mentioned the times were wrong we were greeted with hostility. No refunds were given, it was disappointing, it was our honeymoon. Had we known that's what we were paying for, w would have saved our money
A beautiful private island for Carnival Cruise Lines. Highly recommended.
One of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The pictures don't do it justice.. it is picture perfect!
It was a great place to relax and chill out; but the cabana is the best way to enjoy it!
Very beautiful. Would love a hotel or camping here for extended stay. My wife, children and grandchildren love it here.
This has to be the best island I've ever been to! Beautiful white beaches and clear waters
