Best trip ever! We love the Grand Isle Resort and their amazing staff!! We will definitely be back!
This is a perfect place to go for lunch or dinner. It has great staff and the food is good.We always go to Grand Isle for special occations.
The worst experience that we have ever had! The service was horrible just one restaurant and we were waiting for ages to order. The waiters and waitresses were so rude. We ordered a coffee and the guy never placed our order and then we ordered again and they completely ignored us. As a result we just left. Total waste of money I wouldn't rate this resort as a 5 star whatsoever. Better book an apartment or something.
The Palapa Restaurant is consistently good with well trained friendly staff. Undoubtedly my favorite spot on Great Exuma! The menu prices seem high but the value exceeds all local places that I have tried in 4 visits to Great Exuma Island. February Point is their only competition. It too is very good for an out Island in the Caribbean.
Beautiful resort. Highly recommended in exuma. Food a little less desirable
This review is just of the Palapa Grill at Grand Isle Resort & Spa. You don't have to stay at the resort to dine at Palapa, however, call ahead to make a reservation. The food at Palapa was fantastic! As a vegetarian, there aren't a lot of interesting options on Great Exuma, except for Palapa. I had a Curry Chickpea entree (see pic) and liked it so much, I want to find a place that prepares it back home. The non vegetarian diners in my group had a Glazed Hen entree, and the Grouper. Both described their meals as the best versions of those dishes that they have ever had. We had dinner at Palapa, but the grill, which is located on the resort's pool, is also open for breakfast and lunch.
The beach is beautiful. The staff are nice. However, you need to be very careful here. It is easy to get ripped off and there are components of your stay where people will go out of their way to smile while they are taking your money. For starters, there are two prices on Exuma - one for locals and one for tourists. I have personally witnessed a bar tender charging tourists about 40% more for the same beers as locals. As a family of 6, we had Christmas dinner at the hotel and they charged us $900, including a $60 bottle of wine. They did not post prices for the buffet in advance, and it was nothing special, let alone $900 worth. Next, be very careful with merchants off property, as they will be even more aggressive with the two price strategy. In the end, the trip was nice but the knowledge that they were always trying to rip you off spoiled it. We won't return mostly because, although the beach was beautiful, there are too many other places where the total experience is far better.
Excellent food. Wonderful service. Top notch. They totally spoiled us. I think best food on the island.
The people there are so nice and it's just like home to me.It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever gone to.
Gorgeous white sand beach with unbelievably blue water. The 2 bedroom villa is spacious and comfortable.
Based on a gorgeous beach, this resort gets it right. The apartments are beautiful with amazing finishes, the staff treats us like family (in the good way), and the service has been consistently wonderful. One of our favorite vacations year after year
Located on Great Exuma next door to Sandals Resort. We had a 2 bdrm villa overlooking Golf and Atlantic (played golf at Sandals) and was beautiful and functional. Food at Grand Isle Resort was very good, but look for other restaurants on the island too.
What's not to like with million dollar, two story townhome properties in gated community right on beach with a beautiful pool and restaurant/bar. The grounds are well maintained with pristine tropical landscaping. Beaches are a fine white sand with water that is so clear and aquamarine in color with small waves. Customer service is top notch. They even will do your dishes+++. We spent 7 days and absolutely loved it. Did the pig tour with Sugar Adventures which is a must. They are semi private tour with a maximum of 11-12 people and have more than a full day seeing all the sights. Sugar and crew where courteous, informative and entertaining. Absolutely loved it and would do it again and again.
Clean, courteous, very relaxing. Great quiet place for couples as well as families even with small children. Very nice infinity pool, and easy beach access. Kayaks and paddle boards on soft white sand and no large waves. Ask for a snorkel and fins to enjoy walking-depth reef access full of colorful fish. No sailboat rentals. The food is expensive but excellent, and the bar has everything you may desire. The restaurant and bar are open to the public and work a stop if you are sampling the best the island has to offer.
I love it it is lovely but awful food
This place is a beautiful place the activities are amazing my kids loved it and our villa is gorgeous and everyone is nice and calm
Beautiful condos, amazing views and very relaxing. One of the most beautiful places on the planet!
The resort facilities are amazing. Clean, new, with an amazing pool area and perfect beach.
We stayed in a three bedroom villa, which we split between six people, so it was very affordable to boot.
Food at the restaurant is good, though slightly on the pricy side (though not for the Bahamas), and the staff is attentive and very nice.
I'd definitely recommend staying here if you can!
GREAT experience! Our villa was absolutely beautiful. Paddle boarding and kayaking was great. The grounds were kept well. The dinner at the restaurant was fresh and delicious. Staff helped us book tours and taxi back to restaurant. We will definitely be back!
