Bit of a mixed bag, for me. They were reasonably priced and the car was serviceable and clean, but the free pickup was a total debacle - driver finally showed up 30 mins late to our arranged time. Pro tip: once you've got your wheels, there is a $2 toll to cross from Nassau into Paradise Island (toll booths do take USD). And of course, in the Bahamas, they drive on the LEFT.

Out of the smaller car rental companies near downtown, I found Driver to be the most responsive and attentive. Carol at Driver was super helpful in setting me up with an affordable, clean, well kept car for my day trip. The rate was good ~$75 for a compact with insurance and all that included. The lot is small but well located if you're coming from Paradise Island just across the bridge or downtown from a ten minute walk. Budget has closed with no notice their downtown location and at Avis the same car was $130+. They have a relationship with a reputable snorkeling company so if you are interested in that can set it up for you. Finally, remember that some cars on the island have the steering wheel on the right and the entire island is keep left. All the cars at Driver are automatic.
