We ate dinner here for our 30th anniversary. We were greeted and welcomed in with smiles. We were seated outside up on the balcony overlooking the courtyard. The service was polite, friendly and attentive. Glen Roy was wonderful. The cuisine was outstanding. Prepared with attention to flavor and astetically pleasing. We will definitely return and strongly suggest this marvelous restaurant,
Cafe Matisse was wonderful. The service was amazing and well as the food. The prawns attracted a lot of flies outside even though they lit candles. Would recommend
Cafe Matisse is one of the best restaurants on the island. Try any of the homemade pasta dishes and I promise you will not be disappointed. I would highly recommend sitting in the garden if it's a nice night. The food is delicious and the staff are amazing.
When you are in Nassau go to the Cafe Matisse. Outstanding food and great service. The staff is friendly and helpful. My lunch made it into one of the top five best in all our travels. We sat in the garden at the owners recommendation. Enhanced the experience.
Located two block from the cruise terminal next to the government buildings. Just over the bridge from Atlantis in the heart of the business district.
I’ll start this by saying - best food on the island by far. Everything we had was absolutely amazing. Service was great and there were constantly people coming by to check on us and refill our water. The whole place was just absolutely beautiful and a very intimate dining experience. Prices are definitely high but I think it was appropriate for the dining experience compared to the other offerings in Nassau. They lost a star because although the service was attentive, it was insanely slow. It took 3 1/2 hours for a soup, our entrees and dessert. They lost another star because I had half of my $35 entree boxed (they boxed and kept downstairs until it was time for us to leave) to eat the next day and when we got back to our hotel I realized they sent me home with someone else’s gnawed on t-bone instead of the very generous portion of lamb and potatoes I had left over. When I called about this error and asked for a partial refund they told me all I could do was come back again tonight and they’d give me free lamb. I expected better customer service from a higher end restaurant instead of blowing me off and giving a non-solution.
Perfecto from start to finish. Great service, excellent food and the best rendition of Happy Birthday ever. Don’t miss the lobster risotto.
One of the champions of service in Nassau. Beautiful restaurant. Indoor cozy and outdoor romantic Perfect date spot. On the high end but well Worth it. Classic French European dining at its best.
After twenty years it is still one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Try to get a seat in the courtyard when weather allows
Amongst a ton of mediocrity in restaurants, Cafe Matisse is a shining star. Atmosphere both inside and outside is wonderful and the service is impeccable. Add to this food far beyond anything else we found in Nassau and this makes this place a must.
Food was delicious, out side seating area was beautiful, and the service was fast and friendly.
Personal preference, foie terrine needed to cure a bit longer, and my pizza had a bit of burnt oven bits on the bottom. Everything else was awesome!
Great venue and beautiful setting. Fantastic pizzas and well trained waiters with superb service. But charging New York city prices in Nassau a bit much. Will go back for beer and wine in a relaxed setting any day.
We cannot rave about Cafe Matisse enough! Let me say, first and foremost, the food is EXCELLENT! I've been to Rome and the Italian food wasn't as good as Cafe Matisse's. The service is exemplary! The staff does as good of a job serving as Graycliff, which is very impressive. Make sure to make a reservation and ask to eat in the garden area. The ambiance in the evening is very romantic and peaceful. The owner is very nice as well. We loved our experience so much we came back a second time.
Awesome place for a nice night out on the town. Pretty pricey but that can be expected in a port city. Amazing private shaded patio - it was amazing to listen to the birds and sample some beautiful delicacies!
Excellent food! This is not everyday dining for most. So, set aside a good bit of change. Other than that, it makes for a great evening out and you won't be disappointed.
Stop debating whether or not if you want to go here. I've just made your decision. GO HERE! Best restaurant on both islands. Nassau and paradise island. I got their lamb rack (what they are known for) and it was the best lamb I've ever had.
The food here was really really good. The service was excellent. I came here with a party of 3 close to their closing time. I ordered the T-bone steak it was perfectly seared on all side and tender on the inside. The lobster with cream sauce is great choice from their pasta menu. It's not as expensive as looks on the internet. Very reasonable for the quality of the food.
Beautiful atmosphere and excellent service. However the food was just okay. We had the Lobster risotto and the Lobster pasta. Both lacked taste and just felt a bit bland.
This is by far the best restaurant in Nassau. We have been going to Paradise Island for 25 years and have had dinner at Cafe Matisse at least that many times. It always lives up to our expectations. Either the owner Greg or the manager Allen welcome us upon arrival. The food is spectacular and the waiters are professional and friendly. Not to be missed!!
Great place. If you're looking to get away from fried, generic food. this is it. The service was top notch as well.
Great food, great ambiance. The menu is pretty diverse and the attention impeccable. The owner was kind enough to greet us and recommended some wine.
A must visit spot in Nassau! The food is always great and the service is phenomenal - But not just accurate ordering or bringing the food out on time. They are friendly have have been properly trained in fine dining service. They offer lunch and dinner and both are worth doing. Everything I have had from there has been great and their menu does change at least once a year but some staple items always remain. One of those items is the T-Bone steak which I highly recommend. All of their pasta dishes are to die for!
Parking can be tricky down there, but they do offer valet for tips. Unfortunately it's not the most wheel chair accessible spot if you are in that situation. Again, this is a MUST visit spot if you are in Nassau.
Clean building, excellent service, and delicious food. I Highly suggest the lamb.
This review would be five stars but the music was a bit too loud for the amount of people that were here.
Also, this place is kind of hidden, found it by accident while walking around the main shopping streets. Nonetheless, it was a good find
From the moment we walked through the door , it felt like we finally found what we were looking for. Great food and better service.
This place has it all. Delicious and creative food. Service was spot on. Fantastic decor. Perfect atmosphere. The courtyard is amazing. The owner was there and stopped to ask how things were. Congratulations to you sir. Cafe Matisse is outstanding. If we ever come back to Nassau it is only because of your special place.
