Spectacular resort. Great service and great people. Every pool had something special about it! Also had an aquarium and bird sanctuary. In one of the pool areas there was a grotto with views into the underwater aquarium. Food and drink service at every pool and the beach. Truly perfection!
We did not enjoy our stay here. It may we'll have been our expectations, and the fact that we don't have kids, but it was not what we expected. Overall, the staff was nice and the prices at the restaurants were not bad. The rooms are a little strange, with a lighting scheme that took 10 minutes of flipping various switches in random patterns, just to turn off the hall lights. If you are looking for an upscale Atlantis like experience, this is the place for you. If you want a relaxed tropical experience, do not come here.
This hotel is one of the newest additions on this island. It opened almost a year ago so everything in this place is brand new. Our room was very clean and nice! I loved the bathroom with the open concept bath tub, I thought that was pretty cool. The pool areas are clean and they have 7 pools to chose from! The only thing I didn’t like was the over priced restaurants. Just for breakfast they charge $40 per person for mediocre food which is nothing special in my opinion. I loved the La Madeline pastry shop but after the first day I went to visit they didn’t bake anything new the rest of the weekend which kind of was a disappointment since I was in the mood to try new things. The overall the experience was good!
Baha Mar, though it still needs a few "tweaks", is a fabulous resort. The rooms, facilities and restaurants are beautiful and clean. The staff is extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. The fine dining restaurants are all superb, both in the service and the quality of the food. Though it is a very large property, the well-planned and beautiful design and the abundant small signage make it very easy to find your way around. The beach and the many pools are great and well-maintained.
The only negatives: it was difficult to get the pool and beach waitstaff to come over to take our order, and the concierge often does not pick up the phone. The first is not a big problem, in that there are many bars and restaurants spread around the pools and beach, so it is very easy to just walk a few steps and place your order yourself.
We stay at luxury hotels all over the world, and we found Baha Mar to be a truly excellent value. We will definitely return.
Beautiful luxury hotel. Very big common grounds with amazing water marks and parks. Casino is beautiful and super new and clean. I was very surprised on how clean and new the machines were. Service is fast but expensive. If you are looking to have a world class luxury experience in the Bahamas , this is the best place you can stay.
This is a new hotel which is very beautifully appointed but the service often left something to be desired. The concierge staff was not helpful considering the prices charged per night. More training is required.
Amazing property, very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful rooms and great food. Loved the decor of SLS. I would definitely come back and recommend to others. My only recommendation for improvement is that that the wait staff let you know what drinks and dishes that are not available on the menu before you order. This happened to me at 3 different restaurants on the property.
Nice hotel. Great view and amenities. Things to know. Sign up for the breakfast package, it's well worth it. Pools close at 6pm. Restaurants are pricey. Casino is a lot of fun. The cigar bar is a great leisure spot to watch the fire.
Beautiful resort, clean, and top of the line amenities and restaurants. The only problem we ran into was the the theft of a few items by housekeeping, and subsequently management that refused to acknowledge this. Many comments mention how expensive the food is. If you eat poolside for breakfast and lunch it isn't that bad. For dinner I would highly recommend the island fish fry. The best dinner option at Baha Mar is The Swimming Pig (really yummy American cuisine). Also, little side note that the pools were beautiful, but there was a sea turtle "sanctuary" that consisted of a tiny tank for many sea turtles to swim in. It seemed more to entertain people, while the wildlife looked miserable in their tiny tank (these were not rescued wildlife).
Beautiful 5 Stars, staff are very friendly, and make you feel welcome. Our room had partial ocean view with a balcony very nice and comfortable .
They have beautiful pools (7)with bars.
Nightly entertainment live music.
Lighted water show at night, and a fire show nightly.
Large casino area. Restaurant Katsua with fresh sushi.
Many amenities. Starbucks coffee on property.
I had a pleasant wander around the grounds. The casino is decent. There's an on site Starbucks but the French cafe at the West End has some divine ice cream and coffee.
Food is going to be this place's Achilles heel. Drinks and food are expensive! There are maybe 6 restaurants and each one is more expensive than the last. Only one or two places for cheap (relatively speaking) eats and those close at sunset. Upscale is all well and fine but Americans travel on their stomachs; if there isn't a place for fast cheap food at all hours this place will suffer.
Great place to unwind and relax. Very expensive just for small items. Like a bag of chips is $11 in the sundry shop. Most of the service is great. There are a few places where they just aren't welcoming so we avoided those restaurants in the hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The spa is really outstanding. It is so nice and very enjoyable. Would recommend.
Beautiful place on a beautiful island. Food prices are outrageous and there are fees for merely charging anything to your room. Bring some snacks, ask for a mini fridge and buy some beer and drinks. Ron at the casino sports bar is the best, he went above and beyond for us. Hope this place stays maintained and staffed it will remain our favorite.
