Excellent Food, portion sizes and quality, nice ambiance & good service.
Excellent food, generous portions, and outstanding service. We were seated on the balcony during a steadily busy lunchtime, and the waitstaff was attentive yet not obtrusive. Lovely breezes and a relaxed atmosphere made for a perfect lunch!
This restaurant was alright in my opinion. I have had better Mediterranean food in other cities. We stumbled upon this place by accident. The hummus was pretty good but my pita sandwich was just average, It tasted a bit bland. The prices however are super high for the small plates you get. We paid way too much for the mediocre food we ate. This place was a one time try for me.
AMAZING Greek omelettes!! We stopped here on the Bites of Nassau Food Tasting & Cultural Walking tour and were treated to a delicious Manhattan Conch Chowder. Decided to come back this morning and try their breakfast. We enjoyed a Greek gyro & feta omelette and a Loukaniko (Greek spiced sausage) feta & red pepper omelette. Both were some of the best we've ever had. Recommend trying with a side of hummus and tzaziki!
I like to cruise, and an easy leg to take is from Florida to the Bahamas. I came across Athena cafe by accident while wandering around while docked in Nassau. Upstairs I found the most delicious Greek food in a place that I wasn’t really expecting to find Greek food. The people running the place were really welcoming.
Since 2011 when I first found it and this may seem a bit ridiculous I have booked the same cruise itinerary 5 additional times just because a) RC Enchantment of the Seas and Freedom of the seas are great ships, but b) I would get to visit this place again. I make it a mission to get there every time (one year twice) and just enjoy a cold beer on the balcony with some stuff grape leaves. I have a collection of pens that they give out with the year on it from every year (except 2014).
I booked a cruise this March (2018) for our second wedding anniversary, and to my absolute heartbreak I discovered they are closed on sundays, the day I’m in port. I kid you not I got a bit upset and if it wouldn’t have been financially irresponsible, I would have rebooked a cruise to be there when they were open.
If you’re there, give them a shot. I’ve had so many just wonderful meals there, relaxed, and just happy. I urge you to enjoy it for yourself.
Fabulous eatery in Nassau on the Main Street. Great food and beverages.
Our family of 4 eat here in Dec. 2017. The food was great. But The service was slow and the waiter forgot two items (bottled water and side salad). We had to wait 45 mins. for our kids' food to arrive. 3 tables that arrived after us were served their food before us. The waiters did not have common sense. Also we did not like the second hand cigarette smoke while eating.
Wonderful Greek restaurant with excellent food and very friendly staff. Highly recommended!
Excellent fresh food. Catch of the day- delicious grilled red snapper. Tasty village salat, gyros. Mouth-watering baklava. And - real Greek coffee. Friendly atmosphere.
Excellent food and service. Cucumber mint lemonade served in a tilted glass was so refreshing on a hot day. Greek salad and pork souvlaki was delicious.
The food is to die for, every time the family goes to the Bahamas we make sure we eat here. Everyone is very friendly and the service is great too
The food was excellent! The price was insane.
Fantastic service. They make you feel like you are coming home.
The food is awesome! Small, quaint place but good service, super tasty food and a nice Greek variety. Found it to be on the pricier side, but I think so is most of the food in downtown Nassau.
The food was fabulous! I ordered a gyro and it was the best I have ever had. I write children books and the atmosphere was a wonderful place to write at especially on the balcony. I will be there in December and it will be one of the first places I will revisit. Yummy!
Love coming here whenever we are in town. Food is really good, drinks are done well and the owner is always on top of things. That totally makes the difference.
The service was amazing and the owners are wonderful people! Just like their cuisine Authentic, Modern, and all of the above. They serve the best char grilled octopus on the island! The baklava is to die for!
Food was good, expensive like everything in Nassau (9$ cheesecake), service was great, very friendly staff.
This was the perfect place to stop for lunch in downtown Nassau. I ordered the lamb gyro and the meat was very tender and flavorful. The service was great and timely.
Service was okay. We ordered a coffee and asked for an extra cream and our server never came back. I got the chicken gyro, it came with fries (potato wedges). It was good. I would come back and try other items on the menu.
