One nice thing about this airport is that it's easy to get to by dinghy or small boat. We were anchored at Big Majors Spot (pig beach) and had guests flying in. We were able to take the dinghy and go up the creek to Isles General Store. We beached the dinghy and had a. 100 yard walk to the terminal across the road. Super convenient!
Great airport. This is one of the best airports on a small island.
Very small (a hut for a terminal) but very efficient. Took no more than 1 min to take on and of the bags.
It is agood airport its not too busy
This 3030' asphalt airstrip has recently been refinished and the airport has been reopened. The approach is stunning, and the airport is walking distance to whatever you might like to visit on the cay. This is a little airport where a true general aviation adventure awaits. There is a prevailing stiff wind directly across the runway which also runs across the small hills just to the east. I highly recommend checking the windsock on downwind and keeping a fistful of throttle and active feet on the rudder pedals on the last fifty feet of the approach. I understand there have been several recent adventures of airplanes meeting the ocean. After landing you will find plenty of parking and lots of good quality chocks. No tiedowns that I saw, but I wasn't looking. The airport was unstaffed when we were there and the airport phone was broken, so close flight plans in the air and plan to walk from the airport unless you arranged a ride in advance. The walk to Staniel Cay Yacht Club is about ten minutes. Remember your safety equipment and enjoy!
Recently closed due to a spat with Farmer's cay.
Beautiful place definitely going back
Coolest airstrip ever.
