Like all Mercure hotels, very comfortable with excellent service. Great view of the Corcovado with a lot of small sidewalk bars very close by. Will definitely stay there again

Hotel was ok. We stayed for a week, my husband was staying for work. We ordered room service and food was not good, my french fries were cold and soggy full of oil and the meat was overcooked and cold. We called to complain and instead of replacing the whole meal they only made new fries and meat. So by the time that arrived the rest of the food was super cold. Very dissapointing. Also at check in the receptionist kept my ID! We were there for a week and no one took the time to give it back to me. How can you keep someone's ID and not make any effort to give it back??? All he had to look was look up my room number and give me a call. We were there for a whole week! I only realized I didnt have it at the airport, so I called the hotel and they had it in housekeeping! No one tried to contact me!! So now they were supposed to send it yesterday and email me with the tracking number. It didn't happen and everytime I call the call drops!!!
Breakfast below average, not enough healthy options, a whole bunch of carbs!
But then again that is standard for Rio

Location is very good, set between both airports. The region is relatively safe, with multiple of restaurants and bar ranging from low to medium prices. The rooms decent space, with a double bed, writing desk, armchair and 35" cable TV. Every room has a balcony, with views ranging from the city to the Christ atop the Corcovado. Bathroom was clean and the shower was decent. Wifi connection is above average from hotels, was possible to stream HD videos without problems. Breakfast is simple but good enough.

Quarto bem espaçoso e confortável, chuveiro funciona bem. Atendimento atencioso. O café da manhã é bom, apesar de não ter a maior variedade. Como inicialmente minha diária não incluía café da manhã achei bem caro o valor de 42 reais para o que foi oferecido.

My money got stolen from locked room. Hotel management did not do anything about it.

Rooms are tiny, gloomy and stinky. Bathrooms are worse.

    Stay away.

The location is good if you are commuting near Botafogo, subway is 2 blocks away, it's a safe area, never had or saw an incident around the hotel, lots of bars and restaurants in the streets next to the hotel, excellent night life.

Only issue was that the door knob misprogrammed every day, so every time I arrived at the hotel I had to have my key reprogrammed to work. They changed me keys like 20 times, I was there 25 nights. Friends in other rooms had the same experience.

Check in was very slow. One staff and a lot waiting, then of course soon as I finally got to the desk a second person showed up. Staff were friendly and the included breakfast in my room rate was a very big selection and Nespresso coffee machine in the breakfast room for my morning coffee hit. Pool was nice, if not a bit cold at first! Spacious room but way way too hot! The whole hotel was like an oven and the AC in the room was loud, turn it off at night to try and sleep and the room would heat up fast! Turn it on and you couldn't sleep, so probably one of the worst nights sleep I've had in a hotel in a while. There also didn't seem much around the hotel, unsure how safe it would be to walk around at night so used taxis. On the plus side very well located for sugarloaf, cocobana etc which were a short taxi ride away
