I have no idea when the first time was that I came to this restaurant ( long time ago ) but I have been back many times. I have taken friends here , family here and the normal response after eating here is - WOW that was one of the best meals I have ever had in my life..!!

I really like this place. Great food, nice atmosphere and very good service.
There was one reviewer that said the owner lied to his face, but I think she just didn´t know how to explain the charge. A couvert charge is something very usual here in Brazil, it´s a type of appetizer. In this restaurant they serve you with a little basket of delicious fresh made breads with olive oil and salt before your actual meal, which is called couvert here in Brazil.

In addition to being very conveniently located in the heart of Ipanema, in a cozy backyard, Market offers excellent, healthy food for a fair price. Service is great too: in my case the waiter went to great lengths to satisfy a bit off-the-menu asks of mine, put together a new small table just for me (I was solo) so that I didn't have to wait too much, and even to talk to the owner in order to forgo the service tax that he forgot to include. I've seen some people complaining that waiters didn't smile too much; this was definitely not the case with me, and I paid attention to other waiters as well.

Fantastic fresh food at this place, great juices and drinks lists, breakfast served until 5pm daily and a great range of food. Lots of vegetarian and organic options too. Most recommended dish - the squid appetizer. It just melted in my mouth. Both inside tables with A/C and a lovely outdoor courtyard area available. Arrive early or book - it gets busy!
