Air conditioning just works from 8PM to 6AM during summer, which makes it hard to stay inside the place during the day

Stayed here during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Excellent location that is well within walking distance to the world famous Copacabana beach. There were many rooms available with private bathrooms, so I wouldn't consider this lodging to be a hostel in the traditional sense.

Very small bedrooms, kind of dirty. Energy plugs and air conditioning don't work well (the city is really hot, impossible to sleep without air conditioning).

Staff is great and I don't even speak Portuguese, the first morning I stayed there met some other travelers cause they came and talked to me, place is cheap too I think, and a 5 minute walk from Copacabana

Unfortunately the A.C. in the female shared room wasn't working, as the hot water in one of the room's bathrooms. Good service and staff

Good Hostel. Rooms were not that big but still comfortable.

Meant to stay here 2 days, turned to five. Had an emergency on the fourth day which Che Lagarto resolved with minor de stress for me. The team are very friendly. They have in house drink deals every night but everyone just sits there on their phones or watching soccer, maybe some beer pong would resolve that. They have a kitchen and there's a supper market close by. 40 reals week days and min 50 reals weekends. Thanks team

I had so much fun at this hostel in Rio!!
The staff are extremely helpful (unlike at some other hostels), its only a short walk to the beach, very clean, free internet. The bar is beautiful, and its a great place to socialize and meet people. Amazing atmosphere!!!! Their roof is such a great place, with pool, barbecue.everything!!!!
I would definitely recommend it to others thinking of coming to Rio.
