A great history and mysterious culture

The sun gate is one monolithic piece of stone. This is very impressive. Unfortunately there is a crack at the top of the gate sometime during it's long history. This does not detracts from the overwhelming impression of the gate.

All this archeological site is really impressive, in the middle of nowhere. But this gate, still up in the middle of multiple ruins is really special and it is definitely worth to come here and visit the entire place

I'm into ancient history so this is a must see if you are too. They are 3 monoliths that are worth seeing and the sun gate is a bonus. The museums are nice and if better if you take a guided tour

La Puerto del Sol is a beautiful place in tiwanaku I have been to. It is marvelous and so historic because the people that built it were way before the incas

This gate has interesting carvings and tons of history and speculation around its use, meaning and location. Listening to different guides, you get a variety of (miss)information about this place, do some research prior to your visit and enjoy the field trip.
