The place was lovely. The rooms are comfortable. The owners are very friendly and would do anything for you. We even booked a boat trip around the island and to Isla De la Luna with them. Only complaint was that it was more expensive than other places on the island. But the location was perfect and not to far from the pier. No one wants to carry their baggage too far up the mountain.
Staff cannot speak English and not always onsite. Breakfast is very basic, chips selling there is expired and pricy! We paid Bs 20 for the smallest size Pringle. No real hot shower, it's just "not so cold" water for shower, and the bathroom is very basic and not clean. Bugs and flies in the room. Towels not clean, and only one soap available as toiletries. Us$64 for a night, stay somewhere else! Most of the places on the island is ~us$30.
Very beautiful hostel in the south of Isla del Sol. The owner is very kind. Wonderful breakfast. The price is a little bit above the average. The rooms are very cold. To have hot water in the shower you have to switch on the thing that warm up the water (situated near the shower). Early in the morning you can see a wonderful sunrise from the roof.
I didn't stay at this hostel. That said: there is a restaurant in the hostel, that is open for anyone to go (as most restaurants in the island). Outside of the restaurant there's a HUGE sign saying "WIFI - INTERNET".
I went to the place to have dinner, and the waitress/owner looked at me as if she really didn't want anyone ordering anything from her. After I asked for a menu, she told the options I could order, I chose one and asked for the wifi password. She told me "wifi is only for who are staying in the hostel". I said that the WIFI sign was on the restaurant, and that I was ordering food, so it was absurd to refuse to give it to me only because I was not staying in the place. She said "I have to pay for the internet conection and I can't give it to you, if you want it, you have to pay more". I left the place. A restaurant in a touristic island that denies wifi for backpackers PAYING for food is not a good place to stay.
Of course it's a cheap Bolivian hostel so don't expect heating, wifi, breakfast or any of the normal comforts. BUT the view from here, even in the rooms, is simply insane. There's even a little rooftop to both sides of the island.
