Delicious ceviche and a nice atmosphere. Some menu items seem overpriced, but I really enjoyed the ceviche trio.

If you ve been to Hanzo in Lima. Beware: Hanzo Santa Cruz doesnt come close.

We have tried this place around ten times during the last year or so, and honestly it might be agood, but nothing more, experience. But tonight 30.9.2017 more or less everything went bad, From a very slow (perhaps new) waiter who did not understand our orders. We waited too long, the dishes came separately, some of the sushis were not what we ordered, but worst of all with no real quality surrounding the dishes. The ceviche was cut in far too big slices, and did not have the freshness that ceviche needs. The sushi, well we got more or less what we ordered, but again not at all delicate, too much rice, too much white sauce, and not especially fresh upright.
The final dish came extremely late. There was not a real alternative to the white wine, and when I asked for the wine menu, it came 15 minutes later. So did the ice tea we asked for in the first place, and it did not taste like an ice tea, more as a lollipop made into a beverage.
All this on an evening in the high season celebrating the anniversary of Santa Cruz. So plenty of staff, and not many people. Perhaps they have already been here before.
So, albeit we have been here, and it has been relatively fine, too many times we have been let down and tonight was the drop spilling over so Hanzo is not among the places we attend in the near future.response / report this review -

It was supposed to be a very special evening with my fiancé, it turned out to be the worst. When we were ordering my fiancé wanted to try a sashimi dish but wanted to replace two pieces of the octopus for two pieces of fish. Oh boy, no can do! After arguing with the manager, he agreed to switch the two piece of octopus but told us that this was the first and only time that they were going to do it. We should have left then, but decided to stay. Big mistake! My fiancé found a fish bone in the sashimi. This is the first time that I have seen this. A fish bone in the sashimi! (I am half Japanese and grew up eating sashimi. I have never seen this before). Save your money (lots of money) and go somewhere else.

Both in presentation and quality of food, Hanzo is tops. If you're in a rush and looking for a lighter dish you can order the fish sandwich which is surprisingly good, FYI they serve it steam bun. The sushi is very good, presented in a pleasing manner. Price wise you are looking at a higher tier, I believe the fish sandwich went for roughly 10 USD.

Each one of the sushi rolls we tried was fantastic! The salmon teriyaki with wasabi mash potatoes, unique and the suspiro Limeño to die for.
