  Today I went with my family for lunch at The Energy Kitchen hoping to have a nice healthy meal. Unfortunately, we had to leave without eating anything. My children cannot take any dairy and after we requested a spaghetti Bolognese without cheese we were told that the cheese was already mixed in the sauce. The waitresses or the chef were not able to suggest an alternative. Surprisingly, the menu highlights vegetarian and vegan meals but even these were wrongly identified as such. The truth is that is not easy to find a restaurant or a cafe with non dairy or vegan options here in Brunei, but there are some very open to create options on that very moment. That would be something simple and expected to do in a restaurant that promotes healthy and kids friendly food.
  Over the last three years, from time to time I come to The Energy Kitchen with the expectation that this will be the time we will enjoy a nice lunch with no hassle. Maybe next time 😁!

  The food was quite delicious. Very well seasoned. I appreciate the healthy food range it provides. The decor is also quite interesting. The lighting is not too bright, but not dim. It feels like a nice place to chill and have a bite after a workout. I enjoyed my meals here.

  The experience here gets worse and worse each time I visit.
  Portions are small (Two 1cmx2cm strips of halloumi cheese in a 'halloumi burger' does not seem sufficient to me, fruit juice was off the last time I visited, often what we order is not available a pity, because the concept is beautiful.

  Once a year, my family and I will be on a special fast for 21 days where we will not take any meat, diary products, coffee, tea, and food with sugar and carbohydrates contents for 21 days. During this time, for the first week we will experience symptoms of certain withdrawals from caffeine or any preservative that we consumed in the past.
  
  Since there are limited choice of restaurants in Brunei where we can go and take good vegetarian goods without any preservatives, we would go to Energy kitchen and take our Zen Veggie Plate. It is a big portion and I am able to share with my wife. We enjoyed the food there.
  
  Great play to be in. Hope they can have their own washroom rather than have to go to use the washroom at the pool area.
