I agree that this mosque is one of the most beautiful in SEAsia. It looks regal and impressive in the morning light, and looks festive and colorful at night with the lights reflected on the waters surrounding it. A park around the mosque was developed and opened a few months ago. And this park is fast becoming the most popular public space in the country.

As a Bruneian, we know this place is very significant to our country. This is where we mark our first independence, this is where most of Brunei official events being held. My advice to any people planning to visit this country, Its better you arrive here on Saturday. Stay at any of the hotel in the city (my preference Radisson Hotel and Brunei Hotel). On Sunday, from 6:00 am to 11:00 am the city usually held an event called Bandarku Ceria. Here you can stroll around the city, whether you walk or rent a bike as on this day there is no car day for this city for 4 hours. You can see and participate in the fun filled activity held in the Taman or around the city, there's a lot of hawkers selling their stuff around the city and you can visit the national monuments that are in the city such as SOAS mosque, Royal Regalia, Tamu Kianggeh.

Clean public toilet, very nice waterfront view. Come at night or on Sunday 6-10am for "no-car" strolling hours and more activities await.

One among the best of its kind, the eco-corridor that marks the golden jubilee of His Majesty's ascension to the throne provides wonderful opportunities for people of all strata of society to enjoy life at any hour of the day. I was indeed thrilled this evening on my first visit to the garden. Especially during the night, the ambience is quite mystical with magnificent colour lights and well planned pathways. The place has everything needed to be reckoned as a popular tourist attraction in Brunei.

Its a beautiful place right in the heart of the city. Unfortunately during events where loads of people attend, the area gets filled with litter. If the people in charge would kindly distribute more bins around the area this would be very helpful.
Other than that I would recommend coming here on Sunday mornings for the weekly "Bandarku Ceria" where they close off the roads in the city centre where you can enjoy a nice stroll around town or do a bit of exercise.response / report this review -

Nothing really for a tourist but apparently great for local events. Nice place to rest your feet from walking around. I did it on Sunday and there was a nice little flea market happening. Local kids playing were friendly. There was a toy horsie ride kind of thing there.
