mosque by the current Sultan. Strictly no photography inside the mosque. outside mosque photos are allowed. the only mosque in Brunei with escalator, but exclusive for Sultan & Royals use only

Looks magnificent from outside. Rules are strict, visitors are allowed only on certain days of the week, and only on selected hours, black robes are required before entry (can rent for free), strictly no photos allowed inside the mosque.

Nice views from the outside; it's a shame you aren't allowed to take photos of the inside or even walk around much if a kafir. Thankfully it's close to the Mall Gadong so you can combine the two and enjoy whatever time of day it is.

In terms of architecture, this is totally stunning. It has its own parking area and garden. The place is quite popular among tourists. Beware, just like any other mosques in Brunei, there are limits for photography here as it can distract the people praying here. Being so popular, its rest rooms smell bad compare to Masjid Saifudden and Masjid Ash Shaliheen.

This mosque is absolutely stunning. It's work the trip to it. Grab a bus. I walked along the highway - not the best idea. It's not far from the Brunei mall area. You can get some souvenir shopping done afterwards. Check on the times. The internet and mosque had conflicting times, so ask at your hotel.

The mosque is located on the way from the airport to the city center. Its pretty big and has a little garden and fountains. Its ok.

Beautiful mosque inside and outside, but check the opening hours and and praying times before you go and visit. Normally you should be fine between 8-12am and 2-4pm. Be respectful ;-)

Jame'asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, located in Bandar Seri Begawan, is the largest mosque in Brunei.It was built to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the sultan's reign, and opened in 1994. It is known locally as the Kiarong mosque.
