So there are two reasons for that statue here:
1st: It represents Bahrains famous local bird the Falcon.
2nd: It's indicating access to the airport.
There's a parking area reserved for visitors on the north. Watch out for speeding vehicles while crossing the road, but there are few cars coming anyway.
