Immigration counter didn't have card payment machine & they weren't accepting cash as well. That delayed process & built long queue. This could have been avoided by managing facilities well.

They only allow ticketed passengers to enter the airport, regardless if you are there to see your family off.

It is a nice little airport with good shops and food. Some gates do have a peculiar odor to them but nothing that is too ridiculous.

Bahrain International Airport its good for Transit passengers to spend time here they are having prayer halls also they are providing charging facilities and wifi we can have good shopping on Duty free shop at Bahrain Airport. It’s easy to find waiting hall here.

Bahrain is a really small country with an airport that is up to very high standards. You can land and be out of the airport in less than 10 minutes. That is how efficient they are. The departure area is rather overcrowded but everything is very organized. I have never had to stay in queue for longer than 5 minutes for anything.

Decent but small airport. Processing is done quickly even for international tourists. Separate counters for GCC citizens and others. Duty free is good. Souvenir collections are available at all range of prices. If you want to buy chocolates, you can purchase them outside cheaply. Wine collection is decent as well..

Such a horrible airport unfortunately I had a 12 hr transit wait and no hotel offered by Gulf air, NOT a simple place of rest within the entire airport. Not 1 smiling face or helpful staff, uncomfortable seats and plug sockets that don't work.
I was in the business lounge on my first flight in and that too was ridiculous, horrible breakfast found a HAIR in my scrambled eggs while sitting on sticky chairs.
What do you expect from a people who know how to take but not give.

Located in Al Muharraq island and open in 1932 as the first airport in the gulf, big enough to serve the Arabian gulf and international region, it consist of large building with two floors where there is a free duty market, a lots of local and international restaurants, also has Serving the Arab and international region also has some offices of booking flights, agents for car rental, banks and currency exchange desks and so on.

One of the most beautiful airport in have ever come across. Very fast immigration services. Very good customer care. Very good baggage handling systems. Well organized systems. Good passenger terminals. Flight announcement is great. Very fine duty free shops. Coffee and tea vending machines is very major attraction of this beautiful airport. Dedicated and professional staffs. Security check in is very fast and user friendly systems.

Not bad. Nice small airport!
Flying from this airport is very easy and security is not very strict.
If you are arriving into this airport it's also nice because it's small, immigration and security check is just a few meters from the gate!
If you have a connecting flight it's also easy and fast!
They are expanding the airport and it will probably be double the size it was and probably expansion will be completed by end of 2020.
I personally don't like huge airports with many security and lots of walking from gate to immigration and vice versa!
I have read some bad reviews here with 1 star but they are strictly related to the airline itself and not the airport!response / report this review -

I would suggest everyone not to travel through this airport neither the gulf airline. They are the least trustworthy in terms of schedules as they make their passenger wait not only for hours, but the flights are delayed for days and passengers are not accommodated with rooms. And no status is updated in terms of flight inquiry.

Please do not fly at this airport or gulf air EVER. Trust me it has terrible customer service and consistent weather issues due to fog.
I’ve been stuck here for going on 40hours now they refuse to give us another flight.

Gulf capital for Air Travellers. First ever Airport and Air Transport System offered in Gulf. Well sized airport, friendly staff, excellent duty free offering, immigration counters - FAST SERVICE. All together deserves a 5 star.

Small and clean airport! Straightforward gates are easy to navigate while you are in transit. Free shop is carry many international brands. Marhaba lounges are available for Visa infinite and loungeKey members. Internet is too slow bur available:)

One of the best airport I’ve been to. Washrooms are clean which I liked the most. People who are working there are nice but last time I took Air India and my experience was horrible. It was my last trip and I was leaving Bahrain so I had few items which I cannot threw away but they were treating me like I was doing some kind of crime. My cabin baggage was just 2 kg more than they usually allow and I had International flight then to rid of such situations I booked them for domestic as well but the behavior they did was not good. Usually in Gulf Air they allow. I had few gifts for my cousins like scooter and dolls which I cannot leave but they were so rude and didn’t wanted to listen.

Very busy airport with long lines for immigration no matter what time of day. The check-in staff are helpful, but security is pretty gruff and non-communicative. Three times I got redirected from immigration to the security desk with no explanation, where they argued over something for fifteen minutes before simply waving me through without asking me a single question. However it's very easy to fly in and out of here if you're traveling to KSA, so despite the problems it's still a convenient airport.
