Aluminium Bahrain, or Alba, is one of the largest industrial companies in the Middle East, which is one of the top 10 largest aluminum producers in the world.
The company is based in Bahrain and on 87% of the total workforce of Bahrainis.
The company's range of aluminum products produced, which include houses made of liquid metal, standard ingot, rolling tiles, and others.
It sold 50 per cent of aluminum Alba for the manufacturing industry in Bahrain, while the rest is exported to countries within the GCC and the Middle East, Europe and the Far East and South Asia Council (GCC).
In 2012, the company developed the production of all-time record in its history with 890,217 metric tons.
The company was officially established in 1968 and commenced operations in 1971 with an annual capacity of 120,000 metric tons per year.
After the modernization and expansion works rose smelter's capacity to 450,000 tons in 1992.
In March 2005 commissioned Alba new reduction line, Line 5, which led to increase the company's capacity to more than 860,000 tons of aluminum.
Maximum capacity designed for the smelter is about 1.2 million tons / year.
Alba's shareholders are the property of Bahrain Holding (69.38%), investment SABIC (20.62%) and the general public (10%).
The company's public offering in 2010, and launched the first shares to the public for visits, and was listed on the Bahrain Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange under the symbol "Alba."
And it includes the Alba plant five limit lines, three cast houses, factory dedicated carbon, factory coke calcination 550,000 metric tons per year, and the desalination plant and 11 of the smoke treatment plants, and marine terminals, and a power plant 2,225 megawatts, consists of 4 power plants.
The factory also boasts an oasis of 10 hectares, with more than 7,600 trees and shrubs, garden fruit and vegetables, and an artificial lake.
