In addition to Salman’s review, the majority of lecturers barely speak English — which made it very difficult for me to comprehend them, since I do not speak Arabic — and when they did attempt to speak English, it was laughable, as their vocabulary was EXTREMELY limited and they constantly mispronounced words — one of them pronounced determine “Deter-MINE”. This is not meant to make fun of anyone who can’t speak English, but when you are a lecturer who claims to have graduated from an American or British university, the least we would expect from you is a decent command of the English language. I actually believe their credentials are exaggerated. The only thing I liked about Ahlia University was how clean it was. Forget about the teaching quality, which was, in my experience, an absolute travesty.

This university has 0 good things going for it. Forget the lecturers and teaching quality: even non-faculty staff are lazy, outright toxic for no reason and are a joke.

Nothing is well managed. It feels as if the people in the higher ups just don't care. The people below are hired to do the job with the most hours and least pay, no other criteria being looked into. I don't have proof of this, but due to how common bad lecturers are it feels this way. I question if some of them have the right credentials.

If you are looking for a good university, head to public universities.

Of course, not all lecturers are terrible. There are one or two respectable lecturers who teach with integrity, but they are the exception. From 2 years of studying I've encountered only one doctor who teaches clearly, takes his job seriously and respects students as people.

The University is located in a very good place. In the heart of the city, and what more; its inside a shopping mall.

The 1st and 2nd floor is completely under Ahlia University. The ground floor has lots of mobile shops and few cafés and other shops.
