Very beautiful mountain near the city. Great place for climbing and hiking, as well as just chilling.

Apart from high peaks and unique nature, Vitosha can offer also blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. Easily accessible by public transport.

Vitosha National Park is located just next to Sofia city. Very nice place for hike and relax in the summer, and ski during winter period. There are a lot of marked trails, huts and sites to be visited.

Great place for everyone to admire the mountain views. Only problem is that there are many old directions that can mislead you and get you lost. Advise yourself before going up and you will have a great time.

Excellent small mountain area for a fairly easy and picturesque hike in summer. However, going up during weekdays by taxi when the 66 bus is not running, is not advised unless you're prepared to walk back into town for hours, as taxis won't collect you. Would advise hiring a car.

I adore Vitosha, it is a beautiful mountain, perfect for both short and long hikes. It is very suitable for beguinner hikers sinse it isn't too hard to find your way because of its pyramid structure. The south and north sides of the mountain are very different, so I highly recommend trying out different routes.

The immediate proximity of a mountain is one of the biggest advantages of Sofia as a place for living. For 30 min one can reach a perfect place for relaxation, away from the busy city life, have a picnic, hike, climb (e.g. at Kominite), play volleyball or frisbee on a lawn (e.g. at Momina skala), mountain bike, cross country run, etc. Also, Vitosha contributes for a great city landscape.

calm and natural.if you want a mountain hike into the natural beauty this is the place for you. bayana waterfalls was a little disappointing considering the long downhill walk. We took a taxi up to the golden bridges and started our hike upwards then came down around and went down to the bayana waterfalls.
