You cant exactly say that overall this is the best clinic in town, however on Saturday they always have a few specialists/doctors.

I have a lot to say about this hospital. First, when you call, the automatic phone system provides you the opportunity to select English language. At first this give you the impression that you will find English speaking personal. Unfortunately it is not the case. The international department is composed only by three persons, who in most of the cases are extremely busy and they complain that attending foreign patients phone calls load them with additional work, which is understandable. One of them answered that the receptionists earn so little that is impossible to request they speak English. Some of them are very helpful despite the language barrier, some of them are incompetent; not because they want to be, but because it is evident that they lack of an appropriate training.
Coming to the hospital is always a ritual, since I go with a stroller I loose sometimes about 20 minutes waiting for an elevator. Unfortunately there are very few elevators functioning; and Bulgarians have very little sense of urbanity; i.e. the people is not accustomed to make a queue and many healthy persons just use the elevator for the second or third floor. The hospital should encourage them to use the stairs in order to give priority to the ones really needing the elevators; thus accelerate the flow of visitors.
Regarding the doctors, the majority I have met, have an extremely bad English language proficiency. It is like they have never taken an English exam.
Once I had to make use of emergency services. As other person described it, the service as well as the facilities are very bad. To make a blood test in the emergency room, it was requested to wait at least 45 minutes. The doctor who was attending me was incapable of making a diagnostic and what's more, while he was attending me, he was taking phone calls from the hospital himself. Coupled with that my daughter of 6 months fell down in the floor. I called the hospital to a check up and they were very helpful in accepting receiving us; however, when I was in the room for examination the baby was hysteric crying in pain.guess what, the doctor on charge just answered his cell phone, ignoring the baby patient in front of him crying and in risk after an accident. I couldn't cope with this situation and I just left. I wonder how they manage an emergency of a really bad accident..like a person who comes with a bullet in his body or something much worst.
Then the other experience I made was taking my daughter to a Gastroenterology control. Despite having an appointment, I had to wait 2.5 hours to be attended. In the room other children were waiting hours, most of them crying and uncomfortable. It was evident that the doctors are not capable of having a proper time management. I was furious because I came 30 minutes before the appointment and had to wait at all 3 hours.
Regarding the lab tests, you receive the results online, which is great, nevertheless, hardly you can reach the doctors per phone (in the official hot-line) to get a feed back about the results.
After visiting many doctors, I just decided to visit the hospital for taking my daughter there because I found a good pediatric (an exception after visiting so far 5 different doctors in different places); otherwise, the conditions in hospitals of the national system are awful. It is sad that the capital city of an EU country doesn't count with a proper private or public hospital in the level of an american, German or even Latin American hospital. For me at the end of all these experiences, I just wonder, who is regulating all these services. What kind of guarantees, rights, do the consumers of private healthcare in Bulgaria have? To make a good web site is a piece of cake nowadays but who is certifying that the doctors are competent, that the hospital has an appropriate administration, how often do they evaluate this entityresponse / report this review -

Probably the best medical care you can get in town. Accessible, always open, friendly. It is hard to judge the level of medical craftsmanship from a layman's perspective, but I felt well treated.

Ante-natal care is awful! I'm 21 weeks pregnant and haven't Sen my doctor since I was 10 weeks. I've never once even had my blood pressure taken. The international department are hit and miss, some are very helpful others are rude and unhelpful, refusing to help book an appointment when no one in the department you need an appointment in speaks English! Dr Bogdanova is EXCELLENT and she deserves 5 stars, but the rest are not helpful or unprofessional.
