Very nice park for a walk alone or with children. Historic place with well presented data.

Едно от малкото хубави места в Перник. Крепостта е исторически паметник на културата. Първите документирани заселници са траките. Името на крепостта идва от болярина Кракра.

Not the best restoration, you should visit, but don't expect much. Need a local guide. Note to local authorities - change the national flag - the current one looks like a rag . Shame

It is a bit hard to rate the Krakra fortress. Thinking about the restorations works on the ancient fortress - it is terribly restored. It looks and feels cheap and has no added value - no interesting information left, no internal restoration. Although the old walls on the inside are left in a good condition, which is good - with some imagination you can restore the old fortress in your mind.
BUT as a place to visit - it is wonderful. It is just outside the town - close to the center, but it is in the open nature, it is on a high point so you have a wonderful view in the town's direction, also with the restoration done they have put lots of benches, internal lightning and stuff that make it a great place for a walk. There is a caffee just under the entrance so you can grab a coffee or a beer while you hang out. So as a place to visit it is great and I recommend it.
Also it is beautiful at night and as I said there are lights all over the place so it feels comfortable.
In working hours the entrance fee is 2 euro but in the evening there are no people working on the barrier - just a guard, so you can enter and enjoy it for free!
In my opinion - it is a MUST!
