Start at the east end of town (Khan Asparukh street) and past the fire brigade and aim at the telecommunication cell (antenna) at the top of the hill. A short (20-30 min) trek of medium intensity uphill takes you to the top where the chapel is. As you approach the summit, there is a good view over Zlatograd and the nearby hills and peaks. The chapel is closed and locked and badly needs maintenance and repair. Built in the beginning of the 20th century, legend has it that it was named after the patron saint of the town Saint Athanasius.
