  Great beer and food was good bar food. Nice atmosphere and one staff member was friendly and spoke excellent English. Staff seemed very over stretched though so our meals did not arrive together and there was a wait for the bill.

  Good old-fashioned beer pub right in the middle of Sofia off Vitosha street. Been around for quite awhile and still going strong. Key feature is the self-service beer on tap at each table; pour your own beer and the meter will register your pint. Best come with a group of like minded (beer-minded?) individuals in order to fully appreciate the place. Jovial and easy going, can be crowded at night.

  Atmospheric and friendly pace. Very good choice of beers. We particularly liked the 'fresh live' ale which you serve yourself from a tap on your table. An interesting selection of food served by friendly English speaking staff.

  This place is great. Each table has its own tap and they charge you by the liter. The beer is good. The experience is worth it.

  It's awesome. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are taps right at the table and you can drink their own craft beer as much as you would like. The food is very tasty.

  Ale House is one of the city's classics. Going out with a friend for some draft beer and sausages, potatoes or meat dishes after a busy day at work would be the ultimate scenario. The atmosphere is as if you are watching Inglorious Bastards in that dungeon/bar scene - without the intense and bullet parts and of course the way you order do not matter and would not end up murdered as the beer is dripping right next to you from the wall basically. The staff is really friendly and is trying to be as helpful as possible and to be as less time at your table as possible - which is always a plus.
  Bottom line - things do not become classics for no reason. Inspect why this is Sofia's beer and chips classic experience. Recommend it!

  Great place with awesome live beer coming off of a tap in the wall. Awesome food and bottled beer selection. There are big TVs so it is good place for sports.

  Good place to meet with the friends. Nice choice of local dishes and beverages. Didn't like much the big screens on the walls broadcasting various sports, they are very distracting.

  Great selection a beer and bar food. Very busy always a good sign. Can pour you own beer at the tables which is superb, brewed on the premises as well, and has a digital meter so you can keep track of how much you have had! Loved it

  Fun times! Definite recommendation to eat/hang out with friends. Nice music, sports on the tv, great (snack) food and a tab at the table. Nothing more you can ask for.

  As other have said- pouring your own beer from a dispenser right next to your table is really cool. But! For a system that allows less waiters on a shift, less glass washing and beer which doesn't require delivery and additional cost it's too darn expensive.
  
  On the food- just as good/bad as all the rest of the places. Lately it seems that all restaurants in Sofia get their supplies and recipes from the same place cause everything tastes alike and nothing is memorable
