Well, I like the place and had a good time there. The atmosphere rocks, whether or not it is typically Bulgarian I cannot judge. The menu is overcrowded, but that is sadly normal in Bulgaria. The waiter was kind enough to recommend stuff, so I just ignored the menu.

Food is very decent, not stellar though. Service is criticised in some reviews here but I was very okay with it. The toilets deserve a honorary mention.

This is an excellent restaurant if you are looking for traditional Bulgarian cuisine (don't listen to the 1 starrers). I was with a group of 10 people from all over Europe and one Bulgarian - and we were all treated exceptionally well. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is wonderful with the opportunity to hear live Bulgarian music (and dancing) at your table. It has a cute, homely feel to the place which makes you feel as if you are somewhere authentic and fascinating. And the food is pretty good too. As in all Bulgarian restaurants, the menu is extensive, but all of our group were delighted with their dishes. Very enjoyable and a great experience.

Great restaurant with the most extensive menu with interesting local recipes. Almost too much to choose from, so we received great recommendations from the waiter. Friendly and sociable service.
Ambience and decoration are amazingly beautiful, fitting the restaurant's traditional and local theme. Make sure to take a trip to the toilets and you'll be able to discover all of it!
The experience was great value for money, with a personally selected drink from the house to top it all off.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Unfortunately, not the best experience. The deco is impressive (very folk!), the garden looks lovely but here we go we were four people and ordered 3 hot mains and a salad (as a main). The salad arrived on its own around 20min after ordering. 15 minutes after we had been given the salad, we asked about the other mains and the answer was "they will be here in 5-10min", but we only got them 50min after the salad had arrived. We kept trying to ask about the rest of the mains (we were waiting for so long!) but the staff seemed to be avoiding us, and when we could make eye contact they would only say "it is coming". When the rest of the mains did come (50min after receiving the salad), they were nice but nothing special. Two of them came in fancy plates and our guess is that they did not have many of them and needed them for another table as someone was preaching on us to take them away. As soon as the two of us that were eating on the fancy plates put our cutlery down someone came over to take them while the rest of the table was still working on their food. Very disappointing! Just go somewhere else!

This place is advertised as a typical local cuisine restaurant, which is not very accurate. There is an extremely long menu - 30 pages, and it's hard to pick a dish. Most offers ate not really traditional Bulgarian meals, but rather a variety of European selections. Prices are quite steep for what you get. There are seats outside as well as indoor. The place is usually crowded, so for bigger groups reservations are recommended. Not a very suitable restaurant for families with kids.

The service seemed to have a big problem understanding our orders. We ordered four dishes (two starters and two mains) and only one of the dishes that we received was what we actually ordered. It didn't help pointing this out to the waiter who just said it was 'no problem'. We ended up paying for three dishes that we hadn't ordered plus paying (ungwillingly) 10 levy / 5 euros in tips as they dont give change back since 'the service is not included in the bill'.

A place to have traditional meal, however, highly overpriced for quality and quantity offered.
Service is okay, food is tasteless and sometimes not fresh.

Amazing food! It was a great taste of Bulgarian traditional food within a secluded place in the centre of Sofia. The outside dining area is well kept and very pleasant and the interior is quite interesting. Do try the house draft beer!

This restaurant and it's staff are a destination you need to visit while staying in Sofia.

We sat outside and enjoyed the house draft, the complimentary bread along with the stuffed pepper and a tasty lamb dish. As a nice surprise two free after dinner drinks greeted us when our stomach's were full.

These small touches along with the environment, staff and food make this restaurant a 5 star!

Great traditional food, a bit pricier than we expected but worth the money. Beautifully slow cooked food. The restaurant is very popular, they were kind enough to seat us even though they we fully booked. Lucky we went early.

Bad service and food. It took them forever to serve us and when they did meals came out with 10-20 minute difference so we could not eat together. An hour later they informed us thatthe mixed grill we ordered would be an additionak 20 minutes and prompted us to cancel. All locals were hosted in fancy rooms while tourists were seated elsewhere. The only things we liked were the bread, the kind hostess and the decoration. 4persons- 70euro of unsatisfactory food.

Amazing food cocky service.
Prices are a bit high but keep in mind you can't find similar menu anywhere else.
Sometimes waiters try to offer you something you don't wanna eat and they are very persistent about it. However I never followed their recommendations

A really nice restaurant offering traditional Bulgarian dishes with high quality products, lovely atmosphere, a beautiful garden. However, I think it was sooo overpriced just because most of the guests are foreigners (it was our case too ;-)).

The worst good in Bulgaria. The worst service. Everything for foreneigers but plates not only not tasty but they were disgusting. We órdenes meat and it was uneatable. We left it all. And we payed double the usual price in Bolgaria. With the quality of food that serve in this country, this restaurant is a shame. The only thing we liked was the music.
