Nested in the mountains it's an ideal place for relaxation and recharge. Historic place. And last but not least there are bones from St. Ivan Rilski where you can place your hand and draw energy and heeling power. Take some picnic for a great lunch up the hill.

Situated about 1 km uphill from the main road from Chiprovtsi to Beli Mel and Zhelezna (narrow asphalted road so you can drive up there (parking space available on arrival) the St John of Rila monastery is worth paying a visit if on your way to/from Chiprovtsi. The monastery consists of a church, a bell tower and living quarters. At the time of visit construction was in progress to extend the living quarters with hotel type accommodation. In the bell tower there is an ossuary at level 0 containing the bones of the insurgents from the Chiprovtsi uprising in the 1tth C, a chapel (under reconstruction, nothing to see) on level 1, and a belfry at level 2 (climbing up to the belfry to enjoy the scenery is presently discouraged as the wood staircase is unsafe)

Манастирът е много добър. Към него има нещо като бойна кула, която представлява и костница.

Манастирският комплекс се състои от черква, монашеска обител, малко гробище и триетажна кула - костница в приземния етаж, параклис на втория и камбанария на третия етаж.

Красив манастир с история и костница. За съжаление нямаше кой да ни разкаже за манастира, а в книжката пишеше, че има.
