  Very tasty food, large servings, very quick and helpful staff, decent prices. It is a good idea to call ahead for a table in the garden on weekends. Parking spaces are limited.

  Great food: tasty and freshly cooked. Lightining fast service, too. We were accepted at 10PM (it closes at 12AM) and had our food ready in about 20 minutes! ..and we expected to be returned at that late hour. The waitress was amazing: quick, sharp and chatty just enough to make us like her and look for her afterwards for more chit-chat and travel advice. Bartender was quite hospitable too at this late hour. All in all a great place though seating places are not that many.

  We found this place by accident because we stayed at the Yastrabets hotel in the middle of the woods close to Borovets. Borovets in the off season looks almost like a ghost town. Thus we decided to go to Samokov instead to have dinner at the old house.
  
  The house itself is indeed very old but lovely renovated and in a very good shape. The interior looks authentic and the garden in the back where you can have a seat is beautiful. The area around of the restaurant looks not so nice but the restaurant itself is great.
  
  The food tasted so good that we decided to come back on the next day to have a different menu
  
  On day one we had Сач for two, which is a mixed meat mixed vegetables plate served on a hot iron plate. As starters we had the homemade bread *highlight* and the Old house salad. The old house salad comes with two kind of dips which matched the bread perfectly! This plus a Soda and an Ayran sums up 27Leva => very good price/value.
  
  On the second day we sat outside in the beautiful garden and had the mixed grilled lamb plate, chicken wings, shepherd's salad and again the homemade bread. Buth this tile with garlic. Together with one beer and one Ayran 42,60Leva. The lamb seems to be a bit more expensive than other meat but still perfectly ok.
  
  We had very friendly and helpful staff who could speak English and helped us with finding the right dishes. Their recommendations were really good.
  
  we can definitely recommend this place and if I had this kind of restaurant I would eat there every day!!! ^^

  Lamb tasted great! Fries had cut, little sweet! Together with good wine, we enjoyed the dinner a lot!

  It is an excellent choice if you want to find a restaurant with tasteful, local, quality dishes. A nice, traditional Bulgarian environment, with very good prices and a very good service.
