Beautiful and amazing?
Nice city park. ran into a waterbuck
It's quiet and the air is fresh.
Cheap good for walks and runs but have to leash dogs
Here is all you have to know about this awesome place visited by thousands of people everyday. The Parc Urbain is a nice outdoor spot. Various paths through the forest and its is quiet and relatively clean. CFA100 entrance to the park and CFA200 for the small zoo attached. Some sports facilities that are poorly maintained and a small cafe. Nice option for some green open space if you're in town.
The Parc Urbain has well-kept paths and a small zoo that houses injured or otherwise un-releasable animals. We took a tour of the zoo with Bonaventure. He was an excellent guide - very knowledgable about the animals, involved in their care, and he clearly cares about them. It looks like the Parc also has a conference area. We didn't immediately see a snack bar when we were there, but there was some construction going on and we didn't ask anybody where it might be, so I'm not ruling out that it exists. That said, bring your own water just in case. Overall, it was a lovely afternoon visit.
As for the crocs - some paths lead right up to the edge of the swamp! Definitely a "use at your own risk" situation. Don't get croc-ed.
A possible heads up on entrance fees - I think we each paid 200 CFA (I wasn't there for the purchase), so I'm not sure if the price has gone up or if we had a different type of entrance ticket. This was separate from the zoo ticket purchase. Not a big difference (to a Westerner), but something to be prepared for just in case.
Park made of natural forest, hiking circuit and sports area. Serves as a place of entertainment for youth and lovers at weekends. Early in the morning and at dusk, it serves as a circuit for running. True freshness at warmer times of the year. The patrol of the forest agents ensure security and quietness.
Nice paths through the largest park in Ouaga. Watch out for the crocs and keep your dog on a leash!!
went here several times with a friend to walk--there are many paths here and it would be a good place for a picnic and a place just to get a way and listen to the sounds of the birds, or look for crocodiles in the dry season. Although once the sacred forest, today it could be better maintained as unfortunate signs of modernity have crept in--the signs are rusting out, there is litter in many of the more frequented sections, but it serves as a good get-away for joggers, walkers, bike riders, etc. from the hubbub of the city. There is a snack bar near the entrance, with wifi available, along with a 100cfa entrance fee for foreigners.
This is a really nice retreat in Ouaga. Beautiful landscape and wonderful bird sounds. The peaceful surroundings were very much appreciated.
A huge park to take walk. There are a few animals and birds that you'll enjoy seeing.
Nice natural park. Good place to walk, take dates, enjoy nature.
A lovely natural park in the middle of the city, good for early morning walks before the heat catches up
Simply natural. Be careful and avoid rain season
Cool
The grounds were beautiful but don't count on clean restrooms or picnic tables.
mosquitos makes it a less pleasant visit. Green and calm otherwise
Walking. Running. Biking. Great place
Peaceful and relaxing
