The hotel is excellently located for everything in the city centre. Rooms are small, but have everything you would expect, and beds are very comfortable, and blackout curtains allow good sleep. Being opposite the cathedral means you will inevitably be disturbed by bells, which ring each day at 1045, and at 0830 for fifteen minutes on Monday and Friday. Breakfast must be paid for (15 EUR) on top of the room price, but is worth the money.
Excellent location. Good clean rooms. Breakfast is a rip off though at 15 euros with no fry up!
Great hotel. Comfortably priced, room was clean equipped with AC (which we foud was lacking in other hotels in Belgium). As others have said, the location is terrific, but we were worried about the noise - turns out the windows are practically sound-proof!
In addition to all of that, the breakfast was vast with a ton of different foods and drinks to help you start your morning right.
Nice tidy hotel right next to the cathedral. Location couldn't be better. Stayed in a double room; bed was comfortable, but room and bathroom was tiny. Great price though, so can't complain. You get what you pay for. Definitely recommended.
Very nice hotel, cozy rooms with air conditioning. Room service was great. Of course the location is one of the best.
Everything was clean.
The breakfast was good, but coffee could have been stronger.
The staff was friendly and helpful in everything.
The location of the hotel was nice. Breakfast was superb. However, my concern was our room. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. During our 2nd day in the hotel, my boyfriend and I went to Brugge the whole day then we came back to the hotel like half past 10 in the evening. Surprisingly, no housekeeper went to our room to clean it. We used the same dirty towels for 3 days. Quite disappointed.
Very nice location for a stay in Ghent. Very centrally located, right off the trams. As we were touring Belgium on bikes it was important they had a secure facility for storing our bikes, which they did. The rooms are not very large, and everything feels a bit industrial and modern, but it is all functional and comfortable. The hotel is directly across from St. Baafs Cathedral and has some amazing views of historic Ghent.
Super good location. Small rooms but really good
It's a typical Ibis, don't expect less or more. In Gent, Belo Horizonte or Berlin there is no diference. Very well located!
There nothing much you can add to the stay at Ibis, as it is always so similar across their properties. Great location, smooth check-in. Rooms were small in size comparable to Ibis Budget. The bed was not good - very uncomfortable, it kept on shifting (I do not understand what was wrong with the mattress). Stayed there for 3 nights, housekeeping did not bother to change the linen or bedding even for one day and in fact, the bed was rolled up as it is, not even the crease on the bed linen was smoothened. Breakfast is good but limited options.
Good hotel in the city centre. Room was clean but not so big. It can be fine for a short holiday/weekend. It's just more expensive compared to other Ibis hotel across Europe.
Very good localisation, but hotel needs renovation.
In my room I had problem with: air condition - noisy, soap dispenser - not working.
You should also take into account that parking is small - you can have problem to find a spot.
