Impressive building. One of the main place to visit in Brussels. Close to all other attractions.

beautiful church with a nice garden. But why are there many homeless sitting just outside the church? i think i spotted 2 or 3. Made us feel uncomfortable walking around the church.

Beautiful architecture, amazing cathedral, while you in it, get candle and donate as much as you like. While visiting today, they haf Holy Mass, which looked very nice, areaaround the cathedral just nice to chill out.

This 14th century marvel of architecture is a sight to behold, both from inside and outside. I would highly recommend sitting through the sermon, and wait for the pipe organs to play. I would also recommend a visit to the catacombs downstairs.

Monumental. It makes you think about the past and how ready they were to create such architectural pieces to carry their beliefs. The patience for detail manifests itself in each step you take around it. Worth seeing, especially because it's free to enter and not far from the central station (so can be done as a break while waiting for your next train).

DOV:20Feb2014 St Michael Cathedral is about 500 years old, and still beautiful cathedral in Brussels and a great tourist location. Its built it Gothic architecture and completely marble white. This has free entry and you are also free to take photographs here. The interior design is simple but beautiful.

Really awesome cathedral. Very beautiful on the inside and outside. You can spend literally hours just sitting there and admiring all the awesome artwork inside. And best of all? It's all free of charge (with the possibility of donations which I recommend doing).

This Gothic Cathedral of St Michael and St Gudula is situated at Treurenberg hill. Though dating from the 12th century, the church was only granted cathedral status in 1962.
A chapel dedicated to St Michael, patron saint of Brussels.
The interior of the Cathedral is not as decorative as one would usually expect of a Gothic Cathedral, however its simplicity allows you to appreciate the beauty of Gothic architecture.

A beautiful cathedral, reminding of Notre Dame in Paris. I specially like the mix between the modern square in front and its benches and the story and imposing -yet harmonic- building behind

One of the most beautiful cathedrals that I have visited. 12 large pillars inside with 12 apostles on them, large stained glass windows allow daylight inside, many precious objects of worship. You must visit this cathedral, if you have not already done.

Where: St Michael and St Gudula Cathedral - Brussels
What: A Cathedral near Brussel central station
How was it: The details in the architecture is mesmerizing. Everything about it captures your attention, from the statues to the structures around. It's nice to be at the top of the stairs looking down at the city. Especially in autumn with all the leaves changing colours. If we recall correctly we did go inside.
    Grade: Eli = 4, Serge = 4
Recommend: Yeah, nice to see and admire from outside as well as inside.
