This monument, made in 1921 by Yvonne Serruys is a memorial to the first world war and it's victims, which there were many in and around Menen. Every year on 11/11, firemen, police, red cross and more get together to mourn and remember the horrible world wars. The monument is the center of a small park where families with kids can take a walk or play on the playground. The school next to the park makes sure you're never really on your own here.
