Compared to many more universities in the world, this uni is extremely financially poor so resources in equipment and student supports and even in staff are very basic and old. It's literally just a place for attending lessons. You cannot compare it with any universities as most of the universities have much more to offer, such as more student activities, support, resources, better teaching. There is VERY Little recreation facilities, sports facilities centre, student dorm, student activities, cafeteria, computer barn. You cannot call it a campus because it's just a building and several buildings scattered at different locations. A campus is an area exclusively for the university for all sort of facilities. KUL doesn't have those.

Teaching also very one-way and traditional. No discussion. No lecture halls but only classrooms. Staff are not open to new teaching methods. English proficiency of the teaching staff is actually insufficient. I often see mistakes they made because of the Dutch/ French influence. It doesn't always affect communication in terms of understanding but it really bothered me as I studied an English program but KUL could not offer/ hire better Eng proficiency professors who can meet the qualification.

Very old-school university that you can just feel that they haven't improved in the past 20 years or so. Not modern at all. I wouldn't study at this university again NOR recommend it to anyone. The only reason to study at this uni is you are poor but you have the govt grand to study in this uni and you want a degree from this country. If you need to pay a non-EU price to study at this uni, DON'T do it. Study somewhere else. For that price, there are so many better offers out there in the world.

High quality undergraduated programs. Professors are nice, helpful and experienced. Great campus. Best city ever for an Erasmus. Pangaea is a must visited place for relax, work and social networking.

Do NOT enroll at this University. They will milk you dry of your hard earned money. I was a student at this University for 4 days and changed my mind, about the KU Leuven, because I couldn't really fit in. So I went to the VUB ( Vrije Universiteit Brussel) which is much better, and more accessible than the KU Leuven tbh. They want me to pay up €250,- in less than one week, whilst I was a student at the KU Leuven for less than 5 days.they are modern scam-artists. KU Leuven sucks. Please *DO NOT ENROLL* at the KU Leuven; they do not care about their students, go to the UGent, UHasselt, or better yet; the VUB in Etterbeek.

Excellent teachers and infrastructure. I wouldn't recommend so much for international students as most of the postgraduate programs are a continuation of the former undergraduate programs so it can be confusing for newcomers.

I see lots of nonsense ratings here!, all 5 stars for good beers and nice bars! , I bet it was all left by the international office of this university for themselves!! , But it is not far from mind to think otherwise, since this whole university is just a big money making enterprise, and indeed a bad one.
I was student of biology here and god knows how difficult it was for me to even live in that university village! , the so called professors were all concerned about nothing but themselves and very unfriendly.
I remember once one of them told me that all the people coming from the south (I am Iranian) are lawbreakers and another one told me that we brought you here, to encourage our own Flemish students to compete with you. (Indeed we were only 5 foreign students in a class of 40 Flemish students).
If you like to have a good study experience abroad, definitely do not choose this one). I give it one star because I can not give it Zero!

University in a city rather a city of university
Be careful while roaming in the city. Fake police men would ask you for your travel ID and may ask to check your luggage / wallet. And while doing so will steal things.

Great university. Amazing campus. Beautiful nature. High quality study. You have to study hard to keep up with the pace! Locals are friendly. Helpful and knows good English. Many possible after class activity, many student groups. Social and cultura activities. Many international students. A smile can take you a long way. Make some friends :)
