A great place to visit and full of history, which should never ever be forgotten. Everyone logs in when you arrive and you are then catered to your home language. My children also found this very interesting at ages 12, 13 and 18, and could place the history and meanings of this war. We also visited Flanders fields and cemeteries and also menin gate for the last post at 8pm, which was very emotional.

A great exhibition with interactive videos, you can easily spend a few hours in here. Some of the video presentations are excellent, different nationalities telling their own stories. Well worth visiting when in Ypres.

Very well laid out museum. Some slightly interactive displays. Definitely worth a visit if you want to know this important history of WWI.

Great museum in an interesting little town. Can pay €2 extra to climb the tower for a great view over Ypres, over 200 steep steps so not suitable for all but worth it if possible. Free lockers available.

Excellent museum. Well laid out and thought provoking and good value for money. Worth paying the €2 extra to climb the tower for great views of Ypres and the surrounding area. Also received an excellent book on Total war in Flanders with our ticker f.o.c. Museum also has excellent locker facilities (useful for us as we were cycle touring and had 4 heavy pannier bags between two of us). Staff very friendly.

I live in the UK and it is way better than any museum I have been to. It had 4 different languages and it even had a small cinema thing. Overall, it is an amazing place.

A series of wonderfully evocative vignettes of the Great War. Lots of focus on the men and women who fought and who were affected by the events around Ypres. There is far more here than you can really take in at a single visit. I felt quite drained by the time I left, and not just because I took the option of climbing the bell tower. If you have an interest in the war then you must visit this place. But be prepared to be affected by it.

Well thought out with mixed media presentation. I would have enjoyed it way more without the ethereal organ music playing constantly. Belfry has great views but only do it if you're fit and have no issues with heights.
