by foot to the boardwalk/beach/sea in 15 seconds (around the corner), if you're in the studio you're directly at the boardwalk - local public transport also within 15 seconds - free parking (car) in busy season 10 minute by foot, -2 because of the loud area!
- Room: 8
mattresses probably a little too soft for me, tv (not that many tv stations), enough sockets, a wonderful bathroom, bit tiny but that's okay, good shower, room's friendly, clean (service everyday!) and bright!
- Service: 10
motivated, friendly, helpful, decent and neat! No problems at checkin/out.
- Breakfast: 8
a huge variety of things to eat :) not that much vegetables tough. good coffee machine, room is clean, sitting near the window you can see the sea! on warm mornings you can have breakfast outside!
- Cost-benefit ratio: 8
Middelkerke (as the whole Belgian coast) has seen better days. Buildings are old and outdated. Hotel Excelsior managed it to look modern (in the inside) and young. It's a three star hotel - I am not a sophisticated person - and I really loved it. Minor defects/shortcomings did not bother me.
All in all I am very happy with my third stay in Hotel Excelsior.
Picture shows the view from room with 'dune sight' which is sometimes even a little 'sea sight' (with a little luck)
Comfortabele kamers. Compact maar gezellig en proper. Ligging ideaal: begin van de zeedijk en schuin over strandlounge PATA PATA. Kort bij centrum en kusttram. Ook een super ontbijt met zicht op zee. Vriendelijk onthaal.
excelsior is the best !
Excellent value fort money
Propper, frendlecht Personal (schwetzen och deitsch). Muppen sinn erlaabt. Schein ageriecht, modern. Wlan ass mat dran. Gut Frühstück.
Decent hotel, but extremely noisy when others use elevator/stairs. Even outside summerseason
Super vriendelijke en behulpzame jongeman aan de receptie !
